Product Description Girl power began with Madonna and the lady herself has never been lost for words when it comes to explaining where she s coming from. Everyone has an opinion of Madonna but if you want the word from the horse s mouth, this collection of quotes is a must. A genuine superstar in a class of her own, Madonna has revolutionized the world of entertainment with her ability to be all things to all people in her ongoing crusades as the mother of reinvention . Full of color photos. QUOTES INCLUDE: Newspapers are full of lies, I don t want to have anything to do with them. It s just a rule in our house nobody can bring magazines or newspapers into the house. ; I was a buffoon and an idiot until the age of 40! ; Crucifixes are sexy because there s a naked man on them. ; Is sex dirty? Only when you don t take a bath. ; People say I ve set back the women s movement by 30 years. ;

A Collector's Book For The Die-Hard Fan December 30, 2008 *lovelygirl* This Unauthorized and Unofficial book by Mick St Michael has a brief stereotypical introduction [provided the Sex Book to some may not be a mistake] as well as other remarks not too accurate from my point of view --shifting to the right tremendously. The book includes a series of short sections divided by Eras [Growing Up, Men, Music, Stage, Movies) and such that has numerous quotes by Madonna. Unfortunately, the book starts to loose its charm when unflattering quotes are also included as well as the cover which is not Madonna's best. Throughout the book, it's obvious to the apparent fan or reader that Madonna is a strong powerful Iconic figure but at the same time, I was constantly wondering to myself, "Does this book "really" portray exactly that in the best light?" From my point of view it does not. Madonna has had more quotes from Interviews that have a much stronger impact that could have been included. Either way, it was nice that it included photos from old and newer eras, and was carefully organized in a very professional fashion. This is a nice addition for any die-hard fan - I enjoyed it tremendously! A true Madonna favorite I would recommend for new readers would be Madonna Megastar: Photographs, 1988-93 for the extraordinary photos and for the real quotes the indisputable best DVD of her Interviews which has Breakfast in Bed, Erotica Interview, Letterman Interview [shocking one] titled, Madonna - Virgin Interviews (Unauthorized). A very fabulous intellectual book with thorough analysis worth mentioning is Madonna As Postmodern Myth: How One Star's Self-Construction Rewrites Sex, Gender, Hollywood and the American Dream. On the average this is a fun read that is easy, fast, and extremely entertaining at some points. For the best Intimate Madonna Book we can only wait for that spectacular moment when Madonna writes her own as a gift for fans and as a sign that she is as much a writer for children's books as for adults!
Boring June 28, 2007 Shatzi Crabtree (NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Only the hardcore teens and college age bunch will find this interesting. She says in the book that papers and magazines aren't allowed in the house, but in a recent (2007) photo of the inside of one of her homes, we see a framed photo of herself cut from a tabloid! Simplistic quotes and outright lies like the one above. Can anyone publish a book these days? At least it's a quick read.
