Product Description
Sarah Kramer is a vegan superstar; she was named “The World’s Coolest Vegan” by Herbivore Magazine, and her first three cookbooks have sold a combined total of over two hundred thousand copies. Vegan a Go-Go! represents a change of pace for Sarah: it is a cookbook and more for vegan travelers, many of whom are daunted by the idea of going on the road and being able to locate and/or prepare the kind of nutritious animal-free meals they enjoy at home. The new book includes 150 recipes, many of them new, and others that have been adapted from her earlier books. All of the recipes are easy to prepare with a minimum of ingredients and are guaranteed to deliver energy, nutrition, and great flavor. The rest of the book contains information and advice pertinent to vegan travelers, from how to deconstruct a restaurant menu to what food items are best suited to carry around in your luggage or handbag. There’s even a section on “How to Say ?I Am Vegan’” in numerous languages. The book is also designed with the traveler in mind: it is small enough to slip into one’s pocket or purse, yet has a reinforced cover to ensure durability under the harshest conditions. Full of Sarah’s high-energy wit and verve, Vegan a Go-Go! makes life for vegan travelers a lot less stressful and a lot more fun.

Easier traveling for me as a Celiac-Vegan with food allergies November 9, 2008 Between me and my daughter, we have all of Sarah's cookbooks. Vegan a go go came into my life just as I was diagnosed with celiac disease and multiple food allergies, in addition to already being vegan. Most of the recipes are quick, delicious and are easy to prepare while staying in someone's home. Sarah's book has relieved me of the anxiety of traveling with food limitations. She has spaces in the back of the book for additional recipes, which I've already filled up. Her Rightouse Orbs are yummy and the Chocolate Banana no-bake pie is great...even without the crust (celia, ya know) Take this little cookbook and run with it!
Don't Bother. Really. October 28, 2008 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Look, no one loves Sarah Kramer more than I do. I think she's terrific and I have her other books. There are two HUGE problems with this teeny tiny book. 1. It's useless as a true vegan travel tool. Virtually every recipe would be just too involved to create on the road. And the information is too thin to make a book out of. That's why it was produced in a mini book format. Yes, you could pack it but you'd never look at it. 2. Most of the recipes are a rehash. Just in a tiny format. So if you have a very simple Kramer recipe you really like. Just bring a copy of it with you on your next trip. It will take up even less space than this tiny useless book.
I love this little cookbook. October 22, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have all of Sarah's cookbooks, and they are the first ones I always reach for when I'm looking for new recipes or old favorites. This little cookbook is little, but it holds a lot. It's designed to be small so you can take it with you when you travel, so that you have your favorite recipes from her other books with you. There are all my favorites, plus some new recipes, and space in the back to write down any of your other favorites that weren't printed. Another winner.
She's done it again! October 10, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have only had Vegan A Go-Go for one week and I've already made three recipes. They were all outstanding! There are some old favorites and some new sure-to-be favorites all compiled in a stuff-in-your-back-pocket-and-go guide. The recipes are simple and delicious and I love Sarah's little anecdotes about travelling. A must-have little book for anyone who suffers from wanderlust. I've gotta go make my no-bake chocolate banana pie!!
Great travel (cook)book! October 9, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Don't be surprised by it's diminutive stature when it arrives, this little book packs a big wallop! Sarah shares her own travel adventure stories (both good and bad) and great travel tips. The book's size-about the dimensions of a passport, but thicker-is perfect for taking along on trips. It includes recipes for snacks and meals to take on the road. Also there are new recipes and favorites from previous books that you will have on hand to make for friends and relatives while you are visiting. If you've got really good friends, maybe they'll cook them for you! A great vegan resource.
