Product Description
Vampires, werewolves, witches, shapeshifters -- they live among us without our knowledge. Night World is their secret society, a secret society with very strict rules. And falling in love breaks all the laws of the Night World. In Secret Vampire, Poppy thought the summer would last forever. Then she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Now Poppy's only hope for survival is James, her friend and secret love. A vampire in the Night World, James can make Poppy immortal. But first they both must risk everything to go against the laws of Night World. Fugitives from Night World, three vampire sisters leave their isolated home to live among humans in Daughters of Darkness. Their brother, Ash, is sent to bring the girls back, but he falls in love with their beautiful friend. Two witch cousins fight over their high school crush. It's a battle between black magic and white magic in Spellbinder.

Love the stories, but its hard to get attached November 20, 2008 When i purchased Night World i assumed i was getting several stories about a closely connected group of individuals and that they would appear in all the stories regardless that the main character differed in each of the three stories. this was not the case. you read about three stories all having to do with people who are part of Night World(vampires, witches, and werewolves), and have completely seperate lives that rarely interlace with one another. Because of this, i found it hard to get attached to the characters; something i look forward to when reading.
The stories were memorable and a good read but i was disappointed that i could not get attached to the characters. So if you plan on purchasing this book, be aware that the 3 short stories, are just that. They left me wondering and wanting MORE! Sadly you do not get it. i wish Smith could write more about these characters in other books because i would desperately would like to know what happens!

Wow, the wait is almost over August 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I also have been waiting years for this series to be re-released again.
Daughters of Darkness is the best of the three, but you must read Secret Vampire first. The books are not going from the same character and their progression, they are EACH A SEPARATE BOOK ON THEIR OWN. The books are of a secret society of vampires, shapeshifters (including werewolves), and witches and the forbidden romances between them and humans. The books are short, but well-written and touching. Buy them you won't be disappointed.
This series is my all time favorite. L.J. Smith is my favorite author (even though I am now in my mid-twenties...yes I am ancient). I started with The Vampire Diaries when I was in Junior High. I would recommend reading L.J. Smith's The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle, (but the best is the Night World Series). I would skip "Dark Angel" of the series for Nightworld. The main character is a drip. Thank you for coming out with this again. I don't think the publishers realize how many fans there really are. Thank you Twilight Tales for giving me some hope
Good short stories August 31, 2008 I thought the Night World, Volume 1 contained three great short stories. Each story was unique in and different. Unfortunately, the didn't satisfy my need for a full story. I'm hoping in the coming volumes I will get to see the characters from the first stories interact with each other.
I do like the idea of the Night World folks exsisting in our world, but following their own laws.
I also think this is a good story to read if you are a fan of the twilight series or vampire/werewolf/hags/magic genre.
Sooo glad these were republished! August 22, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been waiting for years for these books to be republished! I've always enjoyed L.J. Smith's books and am so glad to see them back on the shelves. A favorite of mine that always gets me to smile is "Daughters of Darkness"; though I hate how some of them are left with a bit of a cliff hanger. They are fun books to read when you have the time. For those of you who enjoy romance with a little bit of horror... well here you go. The Night World series is fun to get lost in.
I'm also glad to see that her other series are also being published again. I recommend "The Forbidden Game" and "Dark Visions" trilogies for those of you interested in reading more by this author...
