| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description Drawing together classic remixes by heavy-hitters such as The Chemical Brothers and Fischerspooner, this dancefloor-ready collection contains exclusives, rarities and the highly sought-after Kylie/New Order mash-up "Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of Head". Ever since 2001's breakout hit album "Fever", Kylie Minogue has been racking up successive Billboard Club chart-toppers, all of which have enjoyed the remix treatment by some of the scene's best innovators. However, these mixes have largely existed on promo vinyl 12" singles or as European CD single bonus tracks and have never been available in one place - until now. Astralwerks, 2009.
Album Description 2009 collection from the Australian Dance/Pop diva including three bonus tracks: 'All I See' (featuring Mims), 'Wow' (CSS Remix) and 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' (Greg Kurstin Mix). Boombox contains her best single remixes released since the beginning of the millennium, all gathered together on one CD. The album features some of Kylie's most popular tracks, and some lesser known gems remixed to perfection by some of the best dance producers around including Chemical Brothers, Fischerspooner, Mylo and Sebastien Leger. kylie boombox. December 2, 2009 yasamin I did not like it. I thought it would be a good workout music. I was wrong.
Very nice CD. November 9, 2009 Vinayak Suley (Seattle, WA) Bought this CD and was quite pleased with it. Some really nice remixes of some of Kylie's best tracks. It's a great mix of Pop, Electronica and House. Great CD for a party where people are lounging around.
Remixing done right August 21, 2009 Douglas King (Cincinnati, OH United States) I'm not a big fan of remixes in general. Mostly because most of them are so mediocre ... with generic dance beats, cheesy sound affects, and phrases from the song repeated over and over until it becomes ingratiating. However, when a remix is done right, what can happen is that a good song can be taken in a completely new and exciting direction. That's what some of the top notch talent present on "Boombox" does.
A few of the remixes on "Boombox" are amazing. The Chemical Brother's mix of "Slow" is one of the best remixes I've ever heard. It takes the slinky original song and turns it into an all-out, trippy sonic orgasm. Another standout is Fischerspooner's epic, euphoric mix of "Come Into My World." Other highlights are the previously unreleased "Boombox", and the Death Metal Disco Scene Mix of "Wow".
The Remixes July 23, 2009 Courtenay Gilford (Washington, D.C.) This remix album which spans Kylie's 3rd decade in the music and contains some of her best work was actually good. I especially like Your Disco Needs You, Giving You Up, Can't Get YOu Out Head My Head, and Boombox, and this album makes a wonderful additional to any remix collection.
Excellent!! July 9, 2009 William G. Ratcliffe (Lawrenceville, New Jersey United States) Not one to dwell on what many others have already have mentioned, this is one of those dance albums one must own if anyone appreciates not just Kylie, but loves female dance artists in general.
Kylie is more than just a singer of dance music, but is an artist.
This showcase is basically a slew of remixes, but what a collection!
As a former dj, I was 'remix' crazy. What can 'I' do to make such an ordinary song sound, well, different.
These tracks are a welcome addition.
