This CD single housed in a slim-line jewel case has Cassie singing a mid-tempo to up-tempo track pop style track with R&B hints and guitar rifts.
"Is It You" (Album Version) [3:59] is from the Motion Picture "Step Up 2 The Streets". The themes are about love, and the questions of possibly finding the right lover to be the "soul-mate" for life. It's got a very pop sound unlike her previous album and singles thus adding more spotlight on her vocals rather than on the bounce, R&B, or actual sound.
Fans of hip-hop, rap or R&B may find this change to be over the top and not what was anticipated. Pop lovers will get a taste of their favorite styles along a more rich sounding Cassie vs. the breathy soft and sweet candy vocals of her debut album.
Overall, this 1-track is a great selection for Cassie die-hard fans, collectors, or those who enjoyed the movie. Cassie hasn't stopped her drive, ambition nor natural born talent to continue the path to super stardom in the dance, and singing lines. This is her warm-up to what is to be her much anticipated re-surface with new music filled with dance, R&B, some pop, and much funk!
