5 out of 5 stars Love Kylie!   February 28, 2010
    Earl C. Lee (Chicago, IL)
I'd definitely recommend Kylie Minogue's "X"! It's a hot album for partying and going out to "let go." "Like A Drug" and "The One" are my favorite tracks to hear at a club. So gay and lively!...hehe I love it!

5 out of 5 stars An 80's revival, courtesy of Kylie   December 12, 2009
    Shallowharold (Selma, AL)
After a five year absence, Kylie Minogue returns with "X", as in her tenth album in Roman numeral. On this new effort, she makes it a point to make reference to synth pop and new wave which were prevalent in the 1980's. She should know- her hit single "The Locomotion" 20 years earlier. Just about the entire album is centered around uptempo songs, except for the Eg White produced "Cosmic" which is the lone ballad on this album. The songs "All I See" and "Heart Beat Rock" would have made a great choices for a first single instead of "In My Arms". "Speakerphone" sounds like a lost Daft Punk track. The only songs that weigh this album down are "Nu-di-ty" and "No More Rain". Overall, it's Kylie Minogue in top form.

5 out of 5 stars No Prozac Required When You've Got Kylie   April 14, 2009
    SORE EYES
Kylie's best CD yet. Every song on here is an absolute hit. This entire album is loaded on my IPod and I've listened to it so many times I know every word. I can't believe this girl hasn't shot to number one in America. Kylie has a fantastic voice and her music is great. Can't believe we're forced to listen to Brit's synthesized junk when we've got Kylie's melodies. The beats here are fantastic. The lyrics charming. And Kylie's voice is like butter.

I LOVE all the songs on this album but my absolute favorites are Rain and All I See. But geez, that's only if I have to pick, because frankly I plug this in and listen to every song on here over and over again. Granted some may see this as too popish, but I love it anyway. It's my bopping around in my car music. Alternates between the sultry like All I See and the made-for-dancing Wow.

I won't go into a more extensive review because a lot of good comments have been made here about Kylie's lack of attention in the US. I'll just ask-Don't give up on the States Kylie. You have fans here and we love you. I can't wait for your next album!

    5 out of 5 stars Can't Stop Listening   April 8, 2009
    Courtenay Gilford (Washington, D.C.)
I love this album, from the moment I heard 'All I See' featuring Mims to when I heard the song '2 Hearts' I was hooked. This one of best albums I heard yet this year. I enjoyed every song on the ablum except for 'Sensitized'. I love the fact that this album has both its dance songs like "speakerphone" and "Heart Beat Rock" and its ballards like "No More Rain" and "Cosmic". The website asscebile songs "Rippin' Up the Disco" is awesome as well and should have been inluded on the ablum. Over all Kylie Minogue hits her mark and scores expectionally well with her 10th studio ablum.

4 out of 5 stars "X": The Tenth Studio Album by the Pop Princess, Kylie   February 1, 2009
    koolrico (New York, U.S.)
After purchasing "X" from Curcuit City, six months before it when out of business, I was excited. The music video for "In My Arms" was televised on "Entertainment Studios" one night. The first song I played on the album was "In My Arms." I enjoyed it immediately. Much of the remainder of the album took more than two plays for me to warm up to. Here is my rating of each song.

    1. "2 Hearts" 8/10
    2. "Like A Drug" 8/10
    3. "In My Arms" 10/10
    4. "Speakerphone" 8/10
    5. "Sensitized" 10/10
    6. "Heart Beat Rock" 10/10
    7. "No More Rain" 9/10
    8. "The One" 10/10
    9. "All I See" 10/10
    10. "Stars" 9/10
    11. "Wow" 10/10
    12. "Nu-di-ty" 7.5/10
    13. "Cosmic" 10/10

"X" is an album that unlike all of her other albums, does not have a concept or conhesive, unitifed sound. It is not a bad thing. The only songs I did not enjoy that first are "Speakerphone" and "Nu-di-ty." I still don't care for the unnecessary edit of "All I See" feat. Mims. This edit adds nothing that would make it better than the original. It should have left off of the the U.S. edition of the album. The song "When The Cat Walks" would have better superior addition to the album instead of this useless edit of "All I See." On the slower side "Cosmic" is the best ballad on the album. She sound sincerely and assured. The lyrics are very good as well. It allows Kylie's voice to spread so one can hear and her full voice. "No More Rain" is a pleasant ballad. However, the production of it makes the song, especially during the bridge, it is difficult to hear. "Heart Beat Rock" is a cleverly written and produced Pop-Rap song that could easily be redited into a Dance-pop Dancefloor track. It is a pleasant surprise. It is in the same vein of her previous albums' track, "Secret (Take You Home)." "All I See" is a cool, smooth slice of Urban/Dance-pop which would have easily become a Summertime hit soon after its release. However, the continued ignorance of U.S. radio programmers outside of the Dance and Adult Contemporary radio formats prevented it from become a hit record. Again, the Dance music fans and market responded to "All I See" and its remixes. The song peaked at #3 on the Hot Dance/Club Play chart. The Nu-Disco song "Wow" and the edgier "In My Arms" are immediate crowd pleasers. "Wow" became a U.S. chart hit, peaking at #19 on the Hot Dance Airplay chart. "Sensitized" is another sensual Dance-pop song that suits Kylie well. Overall, "X" is a solid record that deserved to have at least decent promotion for the album and its singles pushed on various radio formats. Then perhaps "X" would not be one the "Best Pop Albums of 2008 that the public at large in North America missed out on". Thanks.
