| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com After re-establishing her Latin identity with Mi Tierra, her tribute to Afro-Cuban music, Cuban American singer Gloria Estefan made yet another surprising move, this time exploring the music of Latin America, mostly Colombia. What started as a modest, end-of-the-year holiday album became perhaps the most artistically satisfying album of her career. Aided by Colombian arranger and producer Kike Santander (who also wrote most of the material), Estefan explores vallenato (the title track and "Dulce Amor"), merengue ("Tres Deseos"), currulao, a Colombian rhythm ("Farolito," the highlight of the album) and, of course, salsa ("Nuevo Dia"). For fans of her ballad singing, Estefan also includes the elegant, "Mas Alla." A quirky Gloria Estefan album, yet one of her best. --Fernando Gonzalez

Great Latin American variety January 31, 2010 Enamorada de Espana (Charlotte, NC, USA) This is a wonderful cd for someone who is interested in Latin American music that is not limited to the Caribbean. Estefan is in glorious voice and she chose songs from places beyond her native Cuba. It's fun to listen to and the variety is astounding. She includes a short description of the songs in the liner notes so for me, a Spanish teacher, it is great for use in the classroom and to broaden my own understanding of Latin American Music.
ABRIENDO PUERTAS October 24, 2009 the buyer (TEXAS) The music makes you smile and jiggle when you are sitting or dance when you are standing. Very unlifting
Fabulous piece of "Hispanica" May 7, 2009 Pen Scepter (Idaho Falls, ID United States) On this of her many albums, Gloria Estefan truly excels. She had long since proven herself the master of creative, exciting and extremely catchy numbers, as well as more than a few great and memorable love songs, but this collection shows without question that she has amazing cultural and familial depth as well. A fascinating, "pegajoso" and beautiful line-up of upbeat material--no fan of the Miami Sound Machine should be unaware of this side of its moving force. My wife and I have listened to the album countless times now, and we have yet to tire of it. Viva la Gloria!
Awesome May 2, 2009 Guillermo Velasquez Abreu (Bogotá, Colombia) I like this cd 'cause it is a perfect mix between cuban and other latin rythms. Also, the lyrics talk about love and hope.
My favorite Gloria album of ALLLL time January 11, 2008 Cook book collector I'm 1/2 Cuban and I've been a fan since "Conga". This is her best album of all time. With an old world feel she brings Cuba to you with these songs. This album has never left my car and I can't imagine not owning it. In fact if I was on a desserted island and could only have one cd this would be it.
