A Serious Workout DVD January 9, 2009 Cedar This dvd is one of my favorites. When I want a punishing workout, I pop in "30 Day Shred." The dvd includes three workouts of varying difficulty. Jillian structures the workouts into three six minute sessions (with a brief warm-up in the beginning and a brief stretch session at the end). The workouts are difficult but very doable if you are committed. I don't have a lot of time, so a twenty-minute workout is perfect for me (by the way, this is one of my main problems with the original BL workout dvds--the warm-up and cool-down were too long!). My favorite workout is the first one, which is supposed to be the easiest. But I honestly don't feel like the second and third workouts are that much more difficult (just different). If you are considering this dvd, you might also look at Jackie Warner's "Workout" dvd. Jillian and Jackie (and also Bob Harper) really know how to put a killer workout together.
Great workout! January 9, 2009 Kayla Baker (San Diego) I'm always hesitant when I get a new workout dvd because I've had horrible experiences with some of them, but this workout is AWESOME. I am slightly overweight and working on getting healthier and thinner. I started doing Level 1 this week and have done it 4 days so far. The morning after I used the dvd, I was SO SORE. But it felt good. I can tell my strength is progressing already after just 4 days of use. Yesterday, I ate more sugar than normal and I could feel it when I was doing the workout. I was more tired and had less strength. This just proves that eating healthy and doing this workout will be the most effective! I like this DVD because the moves and techqniues aren't complicated at all, they are very basic and effective moves that are very easy to follow. The time always flies by so fast! Best workout DVD I have bought in a VERY long time.
Beginner -- Very Powerful Workout - Can feel it working! January 9, 2009 A. Thomas (Virginia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a beginner in exercising...so I promised myself to wake-up and do this every day this week; I started on Monday and was not able to do this workout again until this morning(Friday)because my entire body was aching!!! ---that was just from LEVEL 1 This is unlike any other workout dvd I have tried....I can feel it working (and especially in the following days you'll feel it) I hope to be able to wake up EVERY morning and do it....because in no time...I'll be thin! Thanks Jillian!! P.S. Make sure you have 2 5lb. hand weights for this one!
The Quick Effective Workout January 9, 2009 Allison D. Pinkstock I really like this workout DVD because it doesn't take very long but you still get a good workout. I feel like I'm working hard the entire time. I also like the 3 levels of workouts - I can use this DVD much longer because as I conquer the first workout then I can start doing the next level up. The only complaint I have is that Jilian swears once during the DVD. Other than that, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to work out but doesn't have a lot of time.
Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred January 9, 2009 Zoe Babb (Evart, MI) Great workout. I have been doing the same workout for 3 years. I did this workout and was amazed about the number of muscles that my previous workout did not touch (ouch).
