Amazon.com Through the course of Como Ama Una Mujer, the first full-blown collection of Spanish-language tunes from multicultural diva Jennifer Lopez, we keep waiting for it to happen. A sweltering, hands-in-the-air dance anthem--the kind that made Lopez a superstar. Alas, the club beats never materialize: not even a soul-diva shimmy. The closest Lopez comes to is midtempo first single "Que Hiciste." (Seek out the pulsing, reggaeton-flavored remix for maximum dance floor fabulousness.) What we get here is a surprisingly solid collection of elegant ballads and rock-flavored tunes that showcase new vocal strengths and surprising lyrical maturity. Producers Marc Anthony, Estefano and Julio Reyes give Lopez the gloss without overpowing her, a key element to the disc's success. La Lopez recycles one track from 2005's Rebirth, "(Can't Believe) This Is Me," which pops up here as the superior "Porque te Marchas." The disc's second half is a sweeping, often gorgeous, stream of romantic consciousness, starting with the lovely "Tu" and gliding through the gently chugging "Sola." And the beautiful closing track "Adios" is a standout, pairing Lopez's lilting vocals with a gentle string arrangement and a rousing chorus of voices. A sterling achievement from a diva whose talent is just beginning to blossom. --Joey Guerra
Album Description Import pressing of J-Lo's 2007 Spanish language album features two additional bonus tracks: 'Quien Sera' and 'Que Hiciste'. Como Ama Una Mujer (The Way a Woman Loves) is her first full Spanish-language album and features a collection of "big ballads" written and produced by Estéfano, who had previously produced the Grammy-nominated Spanish-language album Amar Sin Mentiras for Marc Anthony. Epic.

MY FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME! September 23, 2009 Jet (Texas) This has to be one of the most wonderful albums ever made. The lyrics, the music, and oh my GOD! THE VOCALS!!
Como Ama Una Mujer has everything you could want from a deeply moving album.
Even after all this time, it still evokes the deepest emotions. Jennifer Lopez is my favorite artist. I put her ahead of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, EVERYONE, and this album only gives me more proof that she deserves it.
Every song is a true gem, from the gorgeous "Amarte Es Todo" to the desperation cry of lost time in "Apresurate". I don't skip over a single song.
"Por Arriesgarnos" took me by surprise, very slowly but surley, it has become my favorite song of the album.
"Tu" is a masterpiece unto itself. It sounds like an epic Italian rock love song from the 80's. The lyrics are extremly well versed and written, and the vocals are immaculate!
I LOVE YOU JENNIFER!
BUY THIS ALBUM. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT
Good album December 14, 2008 Martina Overall I would say this is a good album. Her songs evoke a lot of emotion and the lyrics are good. The only problem is that jennifer's Spanish is a little strange. I speak spanish (not perfect by any means) and when I listen to the cd I can tell that she sings mostly from memorization. She doesnt seem to feel the words as opposed to singing them because she memorized them. There is a halting quality to her words and she doesnt stress them the way that somebody else would.
Wonderful August 17, 2008 S. King (Ok) Great music. Sometimes all we think about is that she can act and we forget that she sings as well. Thoroughly enjoy this CD.
JENNIFER ES MUY BUONO June 18, 2008 simone sheffield (USA) JENNIFER ES MUY BUONO - THIS ALBUM IS EXCELLENT AND I DON'T SPEAK A WORD OF SPANISH.BUY IT.
Wonderful and haunting February 11, 2008 Mari (Indiana) I thought this was a great album. Now, I can't speak to the lyric quality since I don't speak Spanish, but the music is lovely and Jennifer's sound is so much more mature and deep than anything else I've heard from her. Ironically, this is the only JLo album I own. Highly recommended!
