like all "film" books this focuses on the great marilyn's films instead of her life and gossip. it has all her movies, from the first to the last, with a thorough synopsis, and (what is awesome), the actual reviews from the 1950's of each of mm's films. this version is great b/c it initiates with two essays; a very intelligent one from mr.harris, and the immaculate, masterpiece (the eulogy) the sage mr.strasberg read at mm's funeral. the pics are in black and white (behind-the-scenes, stills), but there are many and they are great. i like these kind of "complete film" books, mostly b/c we have the stars' movies analyzed to a degree, and it was their movies that made them what they are after all. i have one on garbo too, and will be searching for more on my fave stars.
