5 out of 5 stars A Classic Album You Need To Own   October 12, 2009
    John Moeller (Lincoln, NE)
David has fallen into his own dark hole of self-emulation and alcoholic escape as of late, but this album was his last great gasp of greatness before he would sink into a world of self-depression and alcoholic abuse. The listener should be thrilled with the wide range of musical selections Hasselhoff thoughtfully grooms to his own style to bring to his beloved German audience of off-beat hand-clappers, many of whom did not hear the first go round of selections in their prime, to a pulsating orgasmic conclusion of musical brilliance. Highlights include a rousing and fitting finale with the Knight Rider theme song, but in general this is simply a quality cover album in which David proves his critics wrong with a tender and versatile voice that is always respectful and considerate of the original interpretation. The one Hasselhoff album to start with.

5 out of 5 stars My first Dave CD!!! The "Knight Rider" sings these, and him along with these songs are awesome!!!   March 17, 2007

I am a Knight Rider fan myself, and thouroghly enjoyed "Jump In My Car", so I just had to see if his singing was cheesy as some think, or if it was bad as some think!! It was neither cheesy or bad!!!! It was super!!!!!

Dave sings 15 songs sung from their original artists, but Davia adds lot's of enthusiasm!! A lot of the songs did sound like they were synthesized, but for some reason, I prefer synthesized music over the real thing...

I found myself tapping my foot to this guy, and thinking:: "I need to collect all of Hoff's CD's"!!!

I guess we all like what we like, and some people don't prefer Hoff, but I prefer him all the way after listening to this!!!! Very catchy, and makes me feel in a good mood!!

My favorite track was "County Roads"!! Denver was super, and Hoff does a rocking good job covering it for him!!! It may not be John, but David's tribute to a Denver tune is great!!!!!

    Enjoy!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Don't take this too seriously.   August 11, 2006

I like this CD. You have to NOT take it seriously, though. To do so is silly. To like this album, one must have an appreciation for the obsurd. The singing is bad and the music is corny... but that's what makes this so much fun to listen to. I happen to believe that there's a place for really bad music. I'm a Gunther fan, and this ranks right up there with him on my top five favorite bad CD's of all time.
If you don't take this CD seriously, appreciate the obsurd, or are a Hasselhoff fan, then it's really worth buying. You'll have fun with it. I did.
Otherwise if you're not into wierd stuff, or aren't a Hasselhoff fan, don't waste your time.

1 out of 5 stars Hasselhof Should Stick to Acting, Not Singing   August 3, 2006

David Hasselhof sounds like a drunk man at a Karaoke Bar on Friday night. Come on, folks!! How can anyone tolerate the former Baywatch and Night Rider Star attempting to cover a Madonna Song?? Sheryl Crow's pop rock rendition of Guns and Roses "Sweet Child of Mine" was better than Hasselhof's rendition of "La Isla Bonita", and I'm a 80's Metal Fan. What's next, Hof- GNR's "Welcome to the Jungle" with a Barry Manilow/Vegas Lounge singer beat??

Perhaps the Germans like the Hof because he's comic relief after pounding one too many Hefeweizens at a Beer Tent. He also probably sounds good after popping shrooms or smoking some of that legal Amsterdam Marijuana.

At least all the women in Swimsuits made up for his mediocre acting in Baywatch. With this CD, there's no avoiding the Hof's washed-up Reno, Nevada Casino lounge act quality performance.

5 out of 5 stars Too bad there wasn't a duet with KIT...   June 3, 2006

Surprising is an understatement. While none of these songs are originals, Hasselhoff never-the-less brings each one of these "classics" to life in his own way. Unlike many celebrities who jump on the create-an-album bandwagon, the Hoff actually has some natural skill. I bought this album on a whim after seeing the Hoff on German TV doing an impressive showing of Rhinestone Cowboy. They love him over there, and this album was worth the price I paid... even if for nothing else but to say that the Hoff is part of my music collection.
