Amazon.com This debut album by the small-town girl with the big, powerhouse voice showcases two distinctly different sides of Kellie Pickler's music. The hard-riffing uptempo material recalls the heartland rock of Bob Seger and John Mellencamp, with Pickler providing a good-ole-girl twang. Among the highlights are the emancipated strut of "Red High Heels," the playful humor of "Things That Never Cross a Man's Mind," and the tomboy bluesiness of "One of the Guys." Yet the American Idol finalist turns pure diva on the over-the-top balladry of the album's other half, with swelling strings and arrangements that overpower rather than enhance "I Wonder" and "I'm on My Way." On such cuts, producer Blake Chancey (Dixie Chicks) never gives Pickler a chance to show the subtlety and nuance that makes music more an art than a competition. --Don McLeese

I like it January 8, 2010 Dawn M. Philhower I really like this CD. It came pretty fast and I really enjoy listening to it. I would recommend this to anyone.
Great career starting freshman cd December 6, 2009 ronnie bruno Great first CD release from the now famous Kellie Pickler. Many singles released from this cd. Great songs.
small town girl with a big heart and voice December 4, 2009 Jan Aaron Russo I have both of Kellie's cd's, i was hooked when i heard red high heels and i wonder. Her voice is clean and strong. i'm very fussy about the songs i put on my portable mp3 player and i wonder made it. this song sends shivers up and down my spine, it is a classic to be cherished, great work kellie, look forward to your next cd. This cd is defenitly worth buying.
Love Kellie Pickler! June 26, 2009 S. Kelley (Wisconsin) A great CD...got one for myself and one as a "grab-gift" for a party we were invited to attend!
Tired June 12, 2009 Canzone (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a good example of what "country" music has sunk to - pop/rock with a slide guitar. Ms. Pickler is no better, and no worse, than dozens of other wannabees who seem to think a whine qualifies them as a country singer. As far as the material goes, well, it matches the artist in quality and authenticity.
An almost unqualified mess - with decent sound.
