Amazon.com Essentially a live greatest-hits package, 'Live' Trucker, recorded before several different Detroit-area crowds, reminds us not only that Kid has long been an entertainer first and songwriter second but that he can surprise even the most jaded listener at the most unexpected moment. He works the urban hillbilly angle to the hilt, gives shouts out to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Cobo Hall and offers hope to disenfranchised kids in crummy apartment complexes and trailer parks from sea to shining sea via "Rock 'n' Roll Pain Train" and "American Bad Ass." Although the last name is Rock, Kid's never been afraid of letting a little bit of honky tonk piano into the mix or blending classic southern soul and the heaviest of rap 'n' roll as he does in "Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp." He's also not opposed to revealing his deep and apparently authentic affinity for country, something he does during the touching "Picture" with his Nashville counterpart Gretchen Wilson. Ultimately, 'Live' Trucker rises above the usual stopgap status of live and greatest hits recordings and stands tall, a statue of redneck rebellion, and reveals that Kid Rock's just getting started. --Jedd Beaudoin

KID ROCK AND LIVE TRUCKER August 31, 2009 A. K. Bradbury I ORDERED THIS CD A COUPLE OF WEEKS BEFORE GOING TO THE CONCERT IN DALLAS ON JULY 1ST AND WATCHING/LISTENING FROM THE 4TH ROW. THEY PLAYED ALMOST ALL OF THIS MUSIC AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANY KID ROCK FAN!!!
amazing album! August 19, 2009 LC (MI, USA) I bought this cd for my boyfriend because he loves kid rock, and now im basically obsessed, what a great great album!
American BadA** July 31, 2009 Anthony Latessa (Brooklyn Park, MN USA) I picked this up to compliment the performance of Kid Rock I took in to promote the Rock'N'Roll Jesus tour. Even though it obviously didn't contain material from that release, it is a solid and faithful representation of how well rounded his show was/is. He definately gives you your moneys worth. And at the concert I attended at the Target Center in Minneapolis he took the time to thank the crowd for spending their hard earned money in these difficult economic times to come out and party with him. Can't say I've heard any other acts do that. I wouldn't hesitate to see him again or buy any upcoming release of his. This kid from Detroit is keeping it real.

"My friend waited by his computer for like 2 days to get this album and when he made me listen to it I really didn't like it. I'm not really a kid rock fan so maybe that is why i did not like it. he loves kid rock so naturally he like it. He said it the best think he has ever listened. If it were up to me i would not get this CD, I would spend the money on something else like a multi-platinum selling Tupac CD."
Just a comment on the font/cover art September 19, 2008 Metal_will_never_die (PA- United States) Just had to insert this comment here. I am not a huge kid rock fan, (although I do enjoy listening to him occasionally), so this is not a review (in the positive nor negative) about his music. I just wanted to know if anyone else noticed that his cover art looks darn near exactly like a number of Bob Seger's albums. (NOTE---The Live Bullet album especially.) I do know that Kid is a big Seger fan (he sang a great duet on "real mean bottle" with Bob Seger on the "face the promise" album, and perhaps this is in tribute to the great artist?
