4 out of 5 stars Classic Lil Rob   December 1, 2009
    J. Barrell (Sacramento, CA)
I bought this cd after getting 1218 Pt.2 and I have to admit that I like Pt.2 much better. I bought this cd mainly for Summer Nights, which is probably one of LR's most bangin' tracks. The downfall to this cd is the lack of creativity that went into the production. I like the cd as a whole but at least half of the tracks are knockoff's of other popular "radio" songs.

The lack of production creativity is what seperates Pt.1 from Pt.2 - this cd echos G-unit, Lil' Flip and others big time - I notice this to be an issue with many latino rappers, at least on some of the older cd's,...it seems to have died down a lot on anything produced from '08 to present.

Overall the cd is good but not great - LR has a pretty basic rap style with very simple lyrical content. I like it because it represents the West Coast & Lowriding. This cd is like a good oldie - it's something simple that you can slap in your ride and just cruise to.

    5 out of 5 stars 1218 Es muy bueno   March 31, 2009

Sí es un pequeño en el lado popular de música y es en inglés pero yo lo quiero. Normalmente yo no compraré un CD en inglés para este tipo de música pero en este caso yo hice. Las transiciones muy lisas en canciones. Muy agradable.

5 out of 5 stars The Freak In MEEE   April 30, 2006
    The Interloper (Las Vegas)
I don't really know about this whole CD. Just the "Bring Out the Freak in You" track. Damn this jam had me bumpin at work. Like Lil' Rob I work at a nearly desolate desert gas station too! The video for this song couldn't be more true. Just the other day I had some real hotties pull over for a quick lube (and tune-up, tire rotation, and alignment. You never can be too careful regular maintenance on your vehicle saves you a lot of money in the long run). It was a bus for Our Lady Catholic Church. Not quite the red dressed LA chick in Lil' Rob's video, but this one nun was totally HOT. After she asked me if I was a believer she totally borrowed my mechanic's coveralls and went into the bathroom only to come out 30 seconds later. Then she threw off the hat and did this impromptu and completely inexplicable strip tease. She made me a believer right then in there. I believe Lil' Rob is THE MAN!
