| Customer Reviews: Without a doubt, their best album November 1, 2005 Anthony Rupert (Milwaukee, WI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Okay, I tried to look past this, but I have to ask...what is UP with all the one-star reviews for this album? People are attesting that 3 Doors Down aren't really rock. What, just because you're not metal, you don't curse, and you have hit singles means you're not rock? (And just for the record, System of a Down's "B.Y.O.B." was a pop hit and people don't seem to have a problem with THAT.) Anyway, while The Better Life and Away From the Sun each had their moments of greatness, they still aren't as stellar as 3DD's latest, Seventeen Days.
One thing I noticed right away, though, is that there seems to be a band member increase per album. First there were three people in the band, then four; now it's five (and the CD doesn't have any liner notes, either). Oh, well; Brad still does a fine job singing over the musical backdrops, as evidenced by the lead single "Let Me Go". And "Never Will I Break" is a nice motivational song in the vein of "Duck and Run".
There were a few times where I wasn't sure if the songs were going to work, especially "Live For Today", which is borderline hardcore. But that song does work out well, as does "Here By Me", which initially sounded like it would be like "Here Without You", but instead it becomes it own song. Basically, Seventeen Days is one of the best albums I've heard in a while, and in the words of track 1, sitting here listening to it is right where I belong.

Great album and no, it's not copy protected. October 20, 2005 Suspicion (Providence, RI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an album full of great material. Good, down to earth, solid rock and roll. The acoustic tracks at the end are cool as well. The 5.1 DVD-Audio surround mix sounds incredible.
Unlike what you may hear, this CD is not copy protected. The CD side rips just fine. If your computer drive can't read it, then that's just it, it's one of the drives that can't read it. That does not mean it has copy protection. I own over 20 DualDisc titles, including this one, and have had no problem ripping any of them.
Good acustic additions, but copyrighted August 10, 2005 L. Ficks (MN) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I enjoy the acoustic additions to this disc. Even without them, Seventeen Days is 3 Doors Down best cd. However, unlike the non-dual disc, this cd is copyright protected. Since I was unaware of this when I bought it, and Amazon does not mark it as such I thought you needed to be informed. This means that while it will most still play in (most) cd players, it cannot be played on the computer, thus it can not be put on an ipod or mp3 player! While I do not blame 3 Doors Down, I do have anger towards the record companies and thought others should be aware of this before buying this cd.
edit:
Apparently this cd may not be copyrighted according to one reviewer. However, I did try the cd on 4 different computers and went to a computer genius for help. On all computers the dvd side worked and the cd side did not. So I guess try your own luck!
