Amazon.com On Never Gone, the Backstreet Boys crib from the pop foundation they helped establish. Like a lot of smart popsters on the rebound, the reunited fab five broach their return by borrowing from the current hit makers. Even after a four-year hiatus, the flecks of new influence won't matter a bit to the fans. The boys' signature sugar-coated yearning softens every song to a melty consistency, and the lyrics haven't lost any of their babe-magnet pull. "It's all so dark and mysterious/When the one you want doesn't want you," sing the chiseled Lotharios on "Siberia." And on the final title track, a swirling crescendo sums up the sentiments of millions of heartsick, former teen devotees: "Never gone, never far/In my heart is where you are." -Tammy La Gorce

AMAZING ALBUM! November 8, 2009 Jennifer This album is simply breath-taking in its quality. If you want and enjoy genuinely superb quality singing along with tasteful, fun, well-written and mature songs, this album is perfect for you. I actually enjoyed every single song on this album which is a rarity for me when it comes to albums. From the soulful, heartfelt Incomplete to the sheer fun and rock awesome nostalgia of Just Want You To Know,(from which I absolutely guarantee you will find yourself gleefully singing along to no matter what type of music you enjoy), to the unique self-awareness of Weird World, as well as the smooth, slick sound of My Beautiful Woman, and the jaw-dropping harmony and emotion of I Still.(If you can, get the cd extra song called Song For The Unloved which is such an amazing song.)
Every song on this album could be a single and should appeal to anyone who loves great quality rock/pop...
Hands down among one of the BEST albums I have EVER purchased.
Good Songs, BUT, Bigger There's a Bigger Problem: April 25, 2009 J. Petersen (Somewhere, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First let me say, that some of the songs are good on this CD, however, don't buy the CD version of "Never Gone." I tried to "rip" songs from the CD onto my computer, and now my entire CD skips and doesn't work. The reason why is because it has a copywrite (or however the hell its spelled) prevents you from doing so. If you dont believe me, click above where it says "1 star" for Reviews and you will see many others saying the same thing (maybe not CD getting f***ed up, but about the copywrite thing). So if I wanted to listen to the songs again, I had to buy them off of here. Good songs, but simply put, DO NOT BUY THIS CD!!!!!

This album is one of their best, next to Millenium....their songs have gotten me through some difficult times in my life and im sure im not the only person who feels that way....This album is worth every single penny and if u purchase it, you would not be let down by them, if u haven't, then u should.....

BSB just get lost, these guys are really robots that they put tapes inside their backs so they can lipsync live. Just so you know. No guy is this senitive girls so stop looking, 40 yr old boys this sensitive means they wont be into you.
Let talent be your gude February 2, 2008 Floyd 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Before you read this review, you must know that I'm an 'over-40' male and have everything from Black Sabbath to Bill Monroe in my music collection. I truly think it's a shame that you have to dress a certain way or act like jerks to avoid being labeled a 'boy band.' This 'boy band' is nothing more than indescribable talent- pure, musical and completely enjoyable. These guys have the essence of the Four Seasons, Jackson 5, and any other previous 'boy band' you can bring to the table. This album is a fine piece of work, as a stand alone or mixed with anything that could be labled pop- yesterday or today. I just listened to this for the first time and have been kicking myself for not exploring it sooner. The feeling in the songs and the tight harmonies are emotive for the soul and pleasing to the ear. You may have something against boy bands, but there's no denying talent. Jealousy breeds contempt, I suppose. Bring me something that compares in the pop/rock realm today. Well done, Backstreet Boys!
