    Album Description
Since forming at the end of 2002, Girls Aloud have created their own brand of electro-pop chic. During the past year, while releasing a trio of top three singles, they have also been working on the follow-up to their debut album `Sound Of The Underground'. The result is brimming with the same brand of amused knowingness and louche sexiness as its predecessor and features the biggest party single of last year, `Jump', plus `The Show', `Love Machine' and their forthcoming Christmas ballad, `I'll Stand By You'. Includes 2 UK bonus tracks 'I Say A Prayer For You' & '100 Different Ways'. Polydor. 2004.

    Album Details
Since Forming at the End of 2002, Girls Aloud have Created their Own Niche. They're Funny, Unpretentious and Opinionated About Everything. They Look Good but Sound Even Better - as Julie Birchill Stated, They're the Perfect 21st Century Group. Co-written and Produced by Brian Higgins and the Xenomania Crew, this Album features Not Only "The Show", "Love Machine", "Jump" and the 2004 Official Children in Need Single, "i'll Stand by You" but 10 Tracks from the Slinky, Bluesy "Deadlines and Diets" to Graffiti's Icy Core of Metal-machine Noise to the Mighty "Wake Me Up" which Wields a Synth-pop Punch Worthy of the B52s. It's a Great Album that Makes a Point: Girls Aloud Rock! What Will the Neighbours Say?

    5 out of 5 stars This U.S. Neighbour says...   November 24, 2008

Back to my reviews, only I have changed how I will do my reviews now. I will rate each album on a point scoring system. How it works each song can receive 5 points, you add the max amount of points album can receive total and divide it by 5. You then get how many points each grade can make & score the album properly. See below all those confused...lol

    Album points received/max = 57/70 = A-
    14 trax: 5x14 = 70.
    70/5 = 14, 14 stars = 1 letter grade.
57 stars just makes the "A" grade by 1 point.

    Breakdown:
    The Show *****5
    Love Machine *****5
    I'll stand By You *****5
    Jump ****4
    Wake Me Up *****5
    Deadline & Diets ***3
    Big Brother ***3
    Hear Me Out **2
    Graffiti My Soul *****5
    Real Life *****5
    Here We Go **2
    Thank Me Daddy *****5
    I'll Say a Prayer For You ****4
    100 Different Ways ****4

End thoughts: I discovered Girls Aloud just 2 years ago, and this album actually became part of my CD collection after Chemistry & Tangled Up was. It is weaker than there newer CD's, but there are enough great trax on this CD to merit its purchase to anyone remotely interested in this group.

    5 out of 5 stars Been a fan   October 2, 2007

of Girls Aloud ever since i first heard Jump. Now i love the song as it was done by The Pointer Sisters. But Girls Aloud bring something upbeat, catchy and just plain fun to listen to and the video is great as well. With What Will The Neighbours Say? the girls all bring something to the album and each song as well. The girls are super popular overseas and i hear more and more people talking about them everyday.

What i love about the album? What don't i like would be a better question. All the songs bring out a little something different each time i listen to them. Like "I'll Stand By You" it brings out me wanting to be my mate and sticking with them no matter what happens. Then "Here We Go" it just makes me feel like i want to have fun & just let loose with a catchy beat and infectious groove to it.

Also found myself enjoying "The Show", "Hear Me Out", "Real Life", "Big Brother" and "Thank Me Daddy" (kind of a different title for a song, but the message is cool and in your face at the same time).

I even enjoyed the bonus tracks that were included:
"I Say A Prayer For You"
    "100 Different Ways"

both are excellent additions to an album that far surpassed my expectations and is an excellent companion to a great debut album "Sound of the Underground" get both if you have the chance.

You won't go wrong at all.

5 out of 5 stars The Girls are tops!   September 15, 2007
    Harold Johnson (Savannah, MO)
These young women are superb performers that compliment their good looks.
I enjoyed this album but I have enjoyed their "Chemistry" album more. This is an energetic, enjoyable group that has a distinctive sound that I really think is quite enjoyable.

5 out of 5 stars Loves it!   January 24, 2007
    J. McCracken (SW Washington)
Haha, apparently I wasn't as attentive to details as I should have, bcuz I'm missing the 2 exclusive tracks (13 and 14). But the album rocks my socks. If you like any one of the Girls' songs, buy the album, bcuz they're all alike, and very catchy and likeable. When it arrived, I didn't stop listening for days. Its especially enjoyable during workouts. I didn't like ALL the tracks, but I would NEVER say that I wasted my money.

5 out of 5 stars Had this forever   January 3, 2006

I have had this ever since it came out on 29th November 2004. It is great and is my most-played album ever. I am British and I wrote a letter to Sarah since she is my favourite. This is a brilliant album and these are my reviews:

    01. The Show
This was a number one and the video is just fabulous (Sarah's hairstyles on the guys were funny!). My dad likes this one and keeps begging me to play it.

    02. Love Machine
Love Machine keeps coming to me, first the single, the album, the "What Will The Neighbours Say?" tour and now, SingStar Popworld has it! Love Machine is great, and Nadine's vocals are shown off in this track.

    03. I'll Stand By You
A cover of Chrissy Hynde's song. But the girls give it much more style and girliness. The video for this is set at a beach and it is beautiful. In the end they go into a tent and hug, it's beautiful!

    04. Jump
This is a cover, too, but Girls Aloud's version is much more snappy. This could get you up dancing, and you feel like either Nadine, Kimberley, Cheryl, Nicola or Sarah if you are at a sleepover because in the video they're at a sleepover! Great dance track for discos.

    05. Wake Me Up
The video is motorbikes! Like the title, it will totally wake you up!

    06. Deadlines & Diets
Slow, ballady song which talks about an emotional breakup. Could this be Sarah Girls Aloud and Mikey Phixx??? Only time will tell.

    07. Big Brother
Yay, Celeb Big Brother starts in a few days and I can't wait! So I pass my time listening to the funky Girls ALoud song and it reminds me of it!! Ooo, who'll be in the house this year?

    08. Hear Me Out
This is probably the best on the album, because it has the same old obvious Nadine vocals that we love!!

    09. Graffiti My Soul
Kinda punk rocky, but still the cool Girls Aloud style.

    10. Real Life
My dad loves this, too. It's cool and it tells you to get your mind on your occupation.

    11. Here We Go
This is the Totally Spies theme tune!! But without all the verses. I love dancing to this!

    12. Thank Me Daddy
This is good, too. I loved it first time. I think it has the same opening as Big Brother.

    13. I Say A Prayer For You
    One word- Lovely.

    14. 100 Different Ways
The worst one on the album, but it's terribly good!

This album is a must-buy, so get your credit card out!

    Love Fleur
