Amazon.com If Nirvana's Nevermind heralded alternative's ascendancy into the mainstream, Creed's mega-successful 1997 debut showed just how quickly--and craftily--alt.rock's musical hallmarks could be utterly co-opted by it. Fueled by vocalist Scott Stapp's Weiland-inspired growl, Creed rode the Seattle pop-suffused string of hits included here to become one of the 90's most successful rock acts--if one whose level of critical revile nearly matched its multi-million sales. This CD/DVD combo features 13 of the band's signature performances (including all eight of its number one singles), songs that often turn on a Christianity-inspired message that could be as opaque (the anthemic "Higher") as it was overt ("My Own Prison," "What's This Life For"). The accompanying DVD completes the career retrospective, anthologizing nine of the band's videos along with previously unreleased live performances of "Torn," "Higher" and "Weathered." --Jerry McCulley

Since when did these ratings become a venue for music critics? February 9, 2010 E. Anderson (Williamsport, PA United States) A fantastic product for Creed lovers especially with the accompanying DVD!
To all the MORONS who rated this product poorly because of their distaste for Creed's music--grows brains! These ratings should be reserved for people who like Creed and are looking for a good compilation of their music. It's a greatest hits CD idiots!
Music is a personal experience for every individual and no one can tell another what is good and what is poor music. Growing up on British and southern rock I frequently butted heads with my dad who grew up on Glenn Miller. My son listens to 'Lil Wayne and other rappers. Who am I to say my dad's and my son's music sucks and my 3 Doors Down, Shinedown, Alter Bridge, Big Dismal, Forty Foot Echo and Creed is the only good music?
One thing cannot be denied and that is at least Creed professed a positive message and not the ubiquitous profane, perverse, sick, down, dark, and self-destructive message so common in the genre of hard rock today, e.g. Staind, Seether, Saliva, Three Days Grace, Theory of a Deadman, Hinder, ad nauseam, ad infinitum--the list is almost endless.
There are far too few hard rock bands that promote a constructive and uplifting message to my older brain and more importantly the brains of our youth.
In short Creed's music is spot-on for hard rock lovers who aren't looking for a value infusion of the current cultural toilet flush.
Creed's Greatest Hits! January 19, 2010 M. Kerns (florida, use) If you love Creed, you will love this Cd. All the best hits and some that are great, but didn't make it on the charts. Great Music;)
Creed's Greatest October 15, 2009 Nancy Lommel (North Babylon, NY United States) If you're a Creed fan, this CD is definitely for you. Not only does the contain their greatest hits, there is a DVD with videos for many of their hits. After seeing Creed in concert, this was a must-have for me. I would recommend this for anyone who likes Creed. Having the CD and the DVD for such a low price fulfills my need for Creed.
Awesome Greatest Hits Album August 16, 2009 R. Furia I thought this was a great album. I listened to this album again last night on my way to see them at Jones Beach last night. WOW do they sound incredible live as well!!! If you like Creed YOU will like the album. PERIOD!!!!
It Doesn't Matter What You Think Of Them June 21, 2009 Richard Saettone (The Woodlands, TX) Regardless of your opinion of Creed, they wrote some excellent music. There was controversy about whether or not they were a Christian band. They aren't officially a Christian band, yet they have some religious elements in their music. Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti were extremely talented as songwriters and as musicians, and it very clearly shows in this album. It's the collection of their best songs. There is not one song on this album that I don't like. They are all excellent. Even the order that they were placed in is perfect. It begins with "Torn," one of their lesser known songs. After about 6 minutes, (it really is that long) it moves into one of their most classic songs, "My Own Prison." This was the title track of their first album, and one of the best. Moving on through a few tracks, we reach "Higher," one of the singles from their second album, "Human Clay." "Higher" was an instant classic when "Human Clay" was released. Later in the album, we hear "One Last Breath," the second single from their third album, "Weathered," the title track of which closes the "Greatest Hits" CD.
The bottom line? This is one of those few albums where every single song is one you're bound to like. This is a great buy, whether it is for yourself, or a for a gift. I bought one for myself, and one for one of my best friends.
