Amazon.com If you love concert DVDs that offer first-rate music, excellent sound and picture, a beautiful setting, and substantial bonus features, then Alison Krauss and Union Station Live is destined to become your new favorite. It's not just for bluegrass fans either, as proven by Krauss's crossover success on the smash soundtrack of O Brother, Where Art Thou? as well as her pop-oriented hits such as "Now That I've Found You." That song plus "The Lucky One," "When You Say Nothing at All," and others are the perfect showcase for Krauss's meltingly gorgeous voice, and admirers of the concert's two-CD set will also find out how funny she is in her between-songs banter. AKUS has never been all about Krauss, however, so there are also instrumental jams plus featured spots for other members, including Dan Tyminski on O Brother's rousing "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow." The second DVD offers 50 minutes of interviews in which all five members plus drummer Larry Atamanuik discuss their influences, their instruments, and their favorite songs. There's also backstage and road footage, baby pictures, and more. Perhaps the only disappointment is that two songs from the CDs are not included in the concert: "Down to the River to Pray," which is heard over the end credits but not shown on stage--presumably because the CD version was not taken from this 2002 Louisville show--and "There Is a Reason." --David Horiuchi

All The Hits!! July 26, 2008 Richard A. Hammond (Treasure Coast, Florida) This DVD is fantastic! You will get to know Alison and her band much more personally. I liked the DVD so much, I bought the CD to have in the car.
Alison is Effortless June 18, 2008 Glenn Abello (Scranton, PA USA) Alison Krauss is the epitome of an excellent performer. She has the voice of an angel, is at ease on stage and makes her audience feel a part of the concert. The fact that she and Union Station have been together for so many years is a testiment to her ability to be not only the team leader but also be a part of the team. The live performance from Louisville, KY was excellent. I recommend both the CD and the DVD for music lovers everywhere.
Alison & Union Station Do What They Do...WELL! February 5, 2008 H. Brown (Omaha, Nebraska United States) The first time I heard Alison's enchanting voice on the top selling CD, "Now That I Found You", she got my attention right then and there! As I've mentioned in other reviews, I am not a big fan of the Country genre. In order for my taste to accept any Country (much less Blue Grass), one quality must be present...crying in your beer, heart tuggin' lyrics. This quality abounds in this DVD offering throughout. Alison will even confess to that theme between numbers. She shows wit that seems spontaneous, even if it's not. The show has fine production values and the 5.1 surround sound mix is just fabulous. This group of artist are VERY talented, from top to bottom. I didn't even subtract a star for a bit too much banjo. "What's the difference in a banjo and a trampoline?" "You gotta take off your shoes to jump on a trampoline"! (LOL) ;-) This group's fan base just continues to grow and this DVD highlights much of their finest material. I'd recommend it highly to anyone.
alison krauss & union station live January 19, 2008 E. De Lang (netherlands, europe.) a great live performence from a great artist but in the netherlands well unkown but since the album with robert plant maybe a new beginning i hope in the netherlands.we have seen her at performence a few years ago from the awards in hashville and since then we buy a few albums from her, and it's really good listening to her.
Great Concert DVD November 5, 2007 P. Harris (USA) If you like Alison Krauss then you certainly will enjoy this concert. She has a great voice and the musicians in Union Station are absolutely top of their field. Even if you have never really listened to much Bluegrass type music you can appreciate the true art of this well bonded band. The only thing I wish was that in was offered in Blu-ray format.
