| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Beauty-school teacher Fran Drescher, basically reprising her television role in The Nanny, is whisked out of Queens and deposited in Eastern Europe after she is mistaken for a science teacher. Timothy Dalton is the gruff and stilted president for life she tames with mousse and kindness. Drescher, with that inimitable voice and colorful clothing, is very funny. It is not a far stretch to compare her favorably with Lucille Ball. The script, however, matches her bubbly humor with nothing but clunkiness. A mild diversion, this is one of many Hollywood comedies that works just fine on video. --Rochelle O'Gorman

Nice January 3, 2009 J. Suznovich Liked the series " The Nanny" thought this might be funny... It was, worth watching.
Beautician and the Beast July 22, 2008 Linda Phillips (Spring City, UT USA) This movie is a family favorite. We've watched it so much on VHS that we had to get a DVD. PG rated, it's a comedy about a ruler from a land of tyrants and a hairdresser from Queens, New York. Fran Drescher is hilarious and though Timothy Dalton starts out a little gruff, he ends of becoming sweet and adorable. A wonderful movie that leaves you with that feel good feeling.
Cheaper elsewhere! March 16, 2008 Twiddles42 (MN, USA) Awesome movie, but you can save $80 or more by doing a quick web search.

You are wonderful on The Nanny, but this movie just didn't do much for me.. nor my neices. I think we all fell asleep right at the beginning. A for effort.
A MUST SEE MOVIE April 19, 2007 stormie (Ohio) Fran Drescher is a gifted, overlooked actress who shines in this "happily ever after" love story. This movie had my attention from beginning to end, without violence, profanity, or sex scenes! Imagine that!
