| Customer Reviews: Nice but different arrangements, 5.1 SACD surround subtle July 28, 2009 P. Christopher Gerhard 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this disc hoping for something fun with some flashy surround effects. Well, there isn't much of what I had hoped for, although there is a little. These arrangements are mostly very different than the familiar film and TV themes and inferior in most cases but the result is still very listenable. Danny Elfman, Jerry Goldsmith and the rest of the composers here could have done better with the material. I have purchased a large number of Concord Music Group SACD's recently since I expect most will be out of print and very difficult to find in the coming years and this purchase was made with that concern in mind. I am glad I own it.
Nothing scary August 6, 2008 J. Davies (Seattle, WA USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
So dissappointed in every single track. I was looking forward to 'better than TV' sound quality. Yes, that is about all you get. The arrangements are overblown and goofy, like a stereo cartoon soundtrack. If they had stayed with the orignal arrangements of all the themes this might have been a decent disc. Do not buy this expecting to play it on Halloween.
Not as good as I would have liked January 9, 2007 C. Tinari (philadelphia,pa) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Not really party music more background music for a video.
