Amazon.com essential recording
Released in March 1994 exactly a year before Selena would be shot and killed by her ex-fan club president, this CD demonstrates a band at the peak of its creative force. The hits were obvious--the eloquent "Amor Prohibido," on love conducted in secret, and "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom," a magical pop tune that could work in any dance club. "Cobarde" and "El Chico" were easy cumbias to like; "Fotos y Recuerdos" was an ironic message on having only photographs and memories left. But highly underrated was the lovely and stoic "No Me Queda Mas," on facing the end, yet keeping a sense of dignity and self-worth. --Ramiro Burr

unfortunately, this was her last spanish album. when you listen to her sing, you just know that she had such great potential. not only did she display her talents through singing, but also in fashion. she created her own outfits when she was performing on stage. of all her previous spanish albums she had released, i would say that this one is definately her best. this one put her more into the spot. the love the album cover and the colors. pink is my favorite color. i don't usually listen to spanish music or tejano but if I had to, it gotta be Selena. She puts the spark into tejano music. i love her and i wish she could have live longer to display all her special talents to the world. all selena fans should definately pick up this album. it has more variety....pop, cumbia, mariachi, tropical, and a lil hint of reggae.

It has been exactly one month since I have ordered the Selena CD, Amor Prohibido, and I still have not gotten it. I'm very disappointed and I will tell everyone I know (That uses amazon) to NEVER buy from you.

I am american and I speak no spanish at all and I LOVE this album by Selena. This is for sure the best all spanish album by Selena. If you are a Selena fan and if you don't already have this album get it. You will LOVE it. Her vocals were great and the songs are incredible.

this cd helps me every time i am down and blue but when i listen to this cd i always cheer up even if in the back of my head i still fell bad i cant rember.

Everything Selena did was gold. It's just a shame she had to be tacen away just when she was supposed to be introduced to the rest of the world! New fans did not get to see what a bomb she was on stage, and what a sweet ni~na mujer she was. A life-long and forever Sel fan.
