Blizzard of Ozz, the first solo effort by the former lead singer of Black Sabbath, became a classic, due in large part to Osbourne's partnership with the late Randy Rhoads. The most immediately recognizable song is "Crazy Train," whose distinctive riff has made it a staple of rock radio. "Mr. Crowley" and "Suicide Solution" generated considerable controversy, which is equivalent to good press when it comes to heavy metal. Other strong tracks include "Revelation (Mother Earth)" and the opening song, "I Don't Know." This 2001 reissue includes the bonus tracks "You Lookin' at Me Looking You." While even heavy-metal listeners haven't always taken Osbourne seriously, his influence on the genre has been considerable. Blizzard of Ozz demonstrates why Ozzy commands lasting respect. Following a spat between band members, the parts played originally by bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake have been recorded over. --Genevieve Williams

    3 out of 5 stars Why????   March 21, 2010
    Jason Jay
I have compared the 2002 remastered versions with the orignals... the difference might be missed by some but... i assure you the 1995 remaster is better if you take the time to listen closely....the 1995 is sooo much better(this is because the 2002 is remixed and party remade)This is falsely labeled remaster it is a remake.Do yourself a favor and DONT buy the 2002 remade version. Plain and simple if u have ears and are payin attention it just dont sound as good. Besides i think any real fan would want the orignal versions no matter what.

1 out of 5 stars I'm sure Sharon is behind this....   February 19, 2010

I don't think Ozzy would ever ruin his classic albums without Sharon screaming at him to do it. This is the worst thing I've ever seen happen to any classic album.

    1 out of 5 stars I can't believe!!!   February 2, 2010

Man, I almost had a heart attack when I saw just two stars for this amazing album, and almost had another when I saw the reason!!

I just can't believe they erased Bob Daisley (the classic Rainbow bass player) and Lee Kerslake! Ozzy and his wife are living in another dimension...I'm shocked.

This album is amazing. A classic. Unfortunantly, it has been destroyed. PLEASE get the 1995 remasters while you still can! Thankfully for me, I managed to get the 1995 versions of both Blizzard and Diary, but time is running out!

buy the 1992 remaster of this album, not this sacrilage that this is.if you want to re-record the album re-record it.don't just re do certain parts. in it's original form this is a bonafide 5 star release.
