Amazon.com A glimpse of the future, and not because of its huge influence and umpteen million sales. The poor-little-rich-boy protest "Out ta Get Me" intimates that Axl Rose's egotism and martyr complex were soon to grow bigger than his head; still, Appetite's night-train wreck of punk and metal sounds and sensibilities make it more than just an emblem of its time. Whether GN'R are dancing with Mr. Brownstone, penning a callow kiss-off letter to some chick named Michelle, or passing out on somebody else's sofa, this was and remains a savage journey to the heart of the American--or at least the Hollywood--dream. --Rickey Wright

Not the same as it used to be March 7, 2010 Son of Procel ("metallead") 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I first heard this album I was pretty excited, it was a fun listen. The truth is that it really hasn't stood the test of time for me. I really can't listen to it anymore. I would give it less then three stars based on how I feel about it now but that would not be fair, because at one point I had a much higher opinion of the music. Most everybody has heard at least half of the album on the radio, so you should know if you like it or not. This band seems to have somehow attained much more respect then they deserve. This is a cool album at first but it is nowhere near the classic masterpiece that people will insist that it is.
The Greatest Band of all Time at its best!!!! February 3, 2010 Carlos A. Gonzalez (Fresno,Ca) This is by far the greatest rock CD ever created. It really captures the spirit and essence of rock and roll. From the moment you hear " Welcome to the Jungle" blast through your speakers you know your going to get your ass kicked the whole ride. Axl and Slash don't disappoint either. Slash, Axl, Izzy,Duff Mckagan and Steven Adler all have a a chemistry that is like any other. EVERY song on here is a hit and no filler found. My personal faves are Paradise City,Sweet Child O Mine, Nightrain and Rocket Queen. Slash and Izzy are a great combo on guitars and Slash is on fire on his lead solos and lead guitar. Adler's drums are a great fit for the hard and fast rock of this group and Axl has one of the best voices of all time. Duff shines on Rocket Queen and Its So Easy. If you care at all about music and rock you must own this album. This album as it all and should be in anybodies top 5 albums and everyones collection.
CD Reissue please !!! January 6, 2010 omnipop (Albany NY USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The rating is for the CD sound quality , which is lousy. Way overdue for a reissue. Get with it UMG !!!
Love it! December 23, 2009 M. Isbell (Greenville, NC USA) I was sitting around with my husband a few weeks ago having a drink. A Guns 'n Roses song came on and we got into a discussion about which song from Appetite for Destruction was the best. I said, "I've lost my copy of Appetite at least three times; I should just go on Amazon and order another one." So I did. For around $10, I had a new copy in my hand in less than a week. Speed of service, great. Quality, great. Love it!
g,n,r,s apetite for destruction is loaded like a frieght train with great tuneage!!! December 11, 2009 Paul Mcguinn (chicago il usa.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
guns,n,roses amazing debut album;apetite for destruction was released in late 1987 and is one of the strongest hard rock band debut albums ever!guns,n,roses kicked off their successful but troubled career with a bang with this one!from the opening track welcome to the jungle you just knew this album was gonna be kicka@@ rock with a gritty sound and a bad a@@ atitude!!i wish i would have seen this L.A. band on the sunset strip on this tour imagine seeing g,n,r at the whiskey or the key club on the apetite tour!!..well in my opinion the killer tracks are;night train,mr.brownstone, welcome to the jungle, pardise city,it,s so easy, sweet child of mine and rocket queen.i would like to see affordable remasters of g,n,r,s back catalog..hopefully one day!if you are a g,n,r,fan you know this album is a must if you are a new comer to g,n,r, this cd would be a good start!!
