Amazon.com It seems that all one has to do in R&B is maintain the status quo and the fans will open their hearts and wallets. Critics might yearn for innovation, but as song after song parades by in a blurring montage of predictability, it would appear that simply coloring within the lines is what the public wants. Into this realm walks Dru Hill as singer Sisqó with his maiden solo effort. Arguments will now be heard about how a solo record from the lead singer of an otherwise anonymous group differs from a record from said anonymous group. Who cares? Sisqó can sing and work the emotional heart out of the songs on Unleash the Dragon. We're talking getting the job done right and within those confines Sisqó does that, with an appealing growl and love-man swagger. --Amy Linden

Good for radio, good to burn, not good to buy October 16, 2008 Borntrue Bethea (Philadelphia, PA) Its an ok album, but it not really an album you would put in your greatest of all time collection. It has one or two good songs, i can even say its three, and the writings as well as the beats are tight, but its not really something you would bring to the table except the fact that the radio played out one of the worst songs on the album, "Thong Song"
A Successful Solo Effort That Fueled A Craze For Thong Underwear (Thank You)! June 20, 2007 Fork Then Spoon (Toms River, NJ USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sisqo's solo debut entitled "Unleash The Dragon" was released on November 30, 1999. Though album sales sold moderately at first, as songs such as the infectious "Thong Song" and the melodic "Incomplete" rose up the charts, "Unleash The Dragon" exploded in popularity and ultimately fueled a craze for thong underwear! This album contains more than just a popular spring break anthem, however, there are a few songs that could be considered "fillers." Below, please find the rating for each song individually:
Unleash The Dragon (Featuring Beanie Sigel) - 10/10
Got To Get It (Featuring Make It Hot) - 10/10
Is Love Enough (Featuring Lovher) - 7/10
How Can I Love U 2nite - 6/10
Your Love Is Incredible - 7/10
So Sexual - 6/10
Thong Song - 10/10
Incomplete - 8/10
Addicted - 6/10
Enchantment Passing Through (Featuring Dru Hill) - 6/10
You Are Everything (Featuring Dru Hill & Ja Rule) (Remix) - 10/10
A very solid product. He made the transition from group to solo artist smoothly! June 20, 2007 Adrian the Complex Lonely (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
And after the slump that was Enter The Dru, Sisqo comes back as a solo artist and does wonders.
I'll do a song by song rating. Hopefully, I'll keep it short and sweet.
1. Unleash The Dragon Feat. Beanie Sigel - This is a good way to start off the CD. 8/10
2. Got To Get It Feat. Make It Hot - This song is really good. Even the rap from Make It Hot fits well. 8.5/10
3. Is Love Enough Feat. Lovher - Ever since the first time I heard this song, I loved it. It's my second favorite song. 10/10
4. 2Nite (Interlude) - It's pretty damn good for an interlude. Sometimes they're pointless but this one leads into the song, How Can I Love You 2Nite perfectly. 8/10
5. How Can I Love You 2Nite - I love this song. And the chorus is good and that's a big part of the song because it's repeated. It doesn't get annoying at all. This is definitely my favorite here. Slow and sexy jam. 10/10
6. Your Love Is Incredible - This song is solid. It's not as good as the last song or Is Love Enough and it seems a bit on the filler side but I promise, it's not bad. 8/10
7. So Sexual - This song rocks. No filler material here. Like the guitar towards the end. It adds a bit of latin flair. Chorus is a bit repetitive but not overly so. Third favorite song. 9/10
8. Thong Song - This song was so damn popular in 2000. I thought I was going to puke the next time I heard it but I didn't. It's still a solid song. 8/10
9. Incomplete - I like this song's message. Fame and fortune aren't everything to Sisqo. He tries to get his point across that he needs a special woman in his life. Without, He is nothing. 8.5/10
10. Addicted - Real nice filler. It flows nicely but never takes off. 8/10
11. Dru World Order (Interlude) - An interlude dedicated to the group, Dru Hill. It's not bad...It fits, I guess. 7.5/10
12. Enchantment Passing Through Feat. Dru Hill - This song was written by Elton John! Anyway, it's not bad, but it doesn't really fit with the other songs. The weakest track here but Dru Hill sounds amazing. Decent filler. 7.5/10
13. You Are Everything (Remix) Feat. Dru Hill and Ja Rule - Nice beat. Solid track. Decent note to leave the album on. 8/10
It makes my heart sing to know that Sisqo, or Mark Andrews had a part in writing most of these songs. I plan to be a singer/songwriter and I find it inspirational when others do it for themselves.
This CD is pretty good. 4 stars and highly recommended!

Sisqo's solo debut entitled "Unleash The Dragon" was released in November of 1999. Though album sales sold moderately at first, as songs such as the infectious "Thong Song" and the melodic "Incomplete" rose up the charts, "Unleash The Dragon" exploded in popularity and ultimately fueled a craze for thong underwear! I can personally assure you that this album contains more than just a popular spring break anthem; from start to finish, this is a solid R&B album. The highlights of the album include: "Unleash The Dragon," "Got To Get It," "Thong Song," and "You Are Everything (Remix)" featuring Ja Rule.
Warning: this album does include some baby makin' music!
The man, the myth, the legend!! January 20, 2006 Fed Up Formerly of Dru Hill, Sisqo is taking America by storm, proving he's much much much more than a one-hit wonder. Get this fantastic solo debut. Don't miss, or you'll regret it.
