Amazon.com Atlanta hit maker Jermaine Dupri knows exactly what he's doing with his all-male quartet Jagged Edge: combining old-school soul with a G's sensibility and focus on a topic that everyone can relate to, love. On their sophomore disc, J.E. Heartbreak, the four young men prove that their sweet, gentle voices can be as provocative as a lover's soft caress. The ballad-heavy album features the guitar-tinged "Healing" and "He Can't Love U," a plea to a female who should rid herself of her undeserving lover. While slow jams are clearly Jagged Edge's specialty, uptempo tracks such as "Keys to the Range" and "Did She Say" (which utilizes the lighthearted flute loop from the Beatnuts' "Off the Books") demonstrate their ability to be slightly rugged and rough, making the group's moniker incredibly fitting. --Celine Wong

J.E. Heartbreak February 1, 2010 Arnita D. Brown (USA) JE HEARTBREAK represents a smooth transition from the group's debut, A JAGGED ERA. Songs like "Did She Say," "Girl Is Mine," and "Can I Get With You" offer a street-vibe leavened by sweet vocal harmonies. Jagged Edge keeps you tuned in from first listen.
Classic For Sure March 11, 2008 Cody A. Crawford (austin) This album is a straight classic. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of a couple songs that are faster and harder, I just think they are better off doin straight slow jams. Anyway, definitely a go hard. Bought it in 8th grade, I'm 22 now and throw it in the deck still
Flawless. 4.8 stars. November 16, 2007 Adrian the Complex Lonely (USA) Ballads such as Promise, He Can't Love U, Let's Get Married and True Man truly make My poor, little heart melt into a million and one pieces! I love them! They are in my top favorite male R&B group, and this album is the very reason!!!
All of the songs are decent, but my absolute favorite standout is Did She Say? It's just an awesome mid-tempo (I believe). Nice lyrics, great harmonies and the whole lot.
I'm telling You - buy this album for Yourself and for two others. They will be calling You up by the weekend to thank You!!
Don't be surprised if They call You back again, to tell You that They're getting You something extra special for the holidays!! <3
Thank You, JE for releasing a classic album with NO FILLER TRACKS. Can't say the same for 95% of R&B music these days...
And thank You, JD for making such flawless-produced hits!!
These love songs are *BOUND* to win You over!

Jagged Edge- JE Heartbreak September 24, 2007 ------------- (The World) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Did i listen to the same album everyone else did? Because almost all the other reveiws said this was an almost perfect album. I strongly disagree. Its not bad, but compared to there first album, this is nothing special. This album did have WAY more hits than their first, but the quality of music on this album is not nearly as good as A Jagged Era. But this is still a decent album that obviously will sell lots of records. And i cant deny that JE is the most talented R&B group in a long time. They all have extraordinary voices. The biggest problem with this album is the production could have been so much better. But none the less it will sell alot, one of the biggest reasons is because of the massive single "Let's Get Married", which will likely be played at weddings for years to come. And the second single "Promise" faired pretty well with the radio as well. BUt besides those couple of big singles, this album seemed empty. The only other standout tracks on the album is the intro which should have been made into a song, and "Lace You" which is a more mid tempo track about how they can hook their woman up with the finer things as well as love them. Overall this was just another attempt at R&B royalty that failed. I would say only buy this album if you are a massive JE fan.
Grade:
C
The Best of R&B August 5, 2007 Tamshac (Pennsylvania) This is true R&B and the best of Jagged Edge. This is one of my favorite cd's of all time and my favorite Jagged Edge cd. I can listen to the whole cd over and over.
