Amazon.com This soundtrack album for the Martin Lawrence cop comedy is a consistently good party disc. In addition to providing Jay-Z with yet another anthemic 1999 smash, Blue Streak brings forth more than solid work from hit-or-miss artists such as Kelly Price and introduces a couple of names to watch. Among the latter, Rehab's cold-eyed dissection of ghetto fabulousness, "Gimme My Money," is more down-to-earth than most such songs. In fact, much of the CD stands as a multivoice critique of the gangsta life and its effects on male-female relationships; Price's "While You Were Gone" could be an answer to Wyclef Jean's dealer apologia "Gone Till November." Blue Streak is a smart, significant compilation. --Rickey Wright

PLAYBOY LIKE ME August 14, 2007 Dark Princess (Cleveland, OH USA) I purchased this CD SOLELY for Playa's "Playboy like me"--the beat is SICK!!! Would have given it a higher rating, but because its a soundtrack CD...its a piece of poop.
Kelly Price's Track December 19, 2006 James C. McGee (U.S.A) "While you were gone" is my favorite track on this CD; she really rips it up! Kelly is a beast on this song! :)
Garbage January 23, 2002 Enlightened (Atlanta Georgia) 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Wow I am truly surprised at all these good ratings for this cd. But fa real though I just don't see it or hear it. This cd is simply garbage. This is an exact example of why people hate buying soundtracks. Throwaway tracks from well known artists. Featuring music from TQ, Kelly Price, Tyrese, Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Krayzie Bone, Hot Boyz, Da Brat and others. Two songs are good maybe three on a good day. Take this garbage track Blue Diamonds by Raekwon. This beat is so annoying and unbearable, yuck. This is probably the worst beat Raekwon has ever rocked over and the hook is equally bad. Jay-Z's Girl Best Friend is a garbage track from him to make money and he succeeded. Keith Sweat featuring Da Brat is garbage. Kelly Price drops a sorry excuse for anything on While You Were Gone. TQ's song is mediocre. Rehab's Gimme My Money is also garbage as is the Ruff Ends song Please Don't forget Me which ironically is easily forgotten. Strings All Eyez On Me ( the song Martin Lawrence was dancing to outside the police station in the movie) is alright. Playa is just a wack artist to me. I have never heard a good song by him ( or is it them?). Rock Ice performed by Hot Boyz is a tight song and has direct parallels with the content of the movie. Da Freak by Da Shorties and 69 Boyz is tight club song. Criminal Mind by Tyrese and Heavy D( song at the beginning ) is also nice. Na Na be Like by Foxy Brown is mediocre and so is So Plush's Shouldve Treated You Right. To Conclude stay away from this and don't buy it. It disgraces the movie. Just listen to the little excerpts that are in the movie and you wont be disappointed. Don't Buy This it is low in quality songs and just isn't that good.
Tight as hell! Must have! June 29, 2000 The Latch Key Kid (The USA...The only place where a movie like this is possible!) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The cd is better than the movie, and I loved the movie! Plenty of funky sloppy tracks, as well as some party type tracks. This is a must have for any rap fan. You won't be disappointed!
