| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Adam Sandler plays an immature 32-year-old who adopts a son to prove to the girlfriend who just dumped him that he can be responsible. Those familiar with Sandler's Saturday Night Live shenanigans won't be surprised by his behavior, and several of the movie's bits are interspersed throughout the soundtrack. For the music, it's a mix of straightforward rock (Garbage with "When I Grow Up," which sounds suspiciously like Vanity Fair's "Hitchin' a Ride"), unexpected covers (Sheryl Crow refining Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine," Everlast and the White Folx tripping out on Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart"), '70s kitsch (Styx's "Babe" and Yvonne Elliman's disco anthem "If I Can't Have You"), and inquisitive singer-songwriters (Rufus Wainwright, Shawn Mullins, who asks the George Harrison question "What Is Life?"). Melanie C (Scary Spice) surprises with the rock-oriented "Ga Ga." Just in case things seem too serious, Tim Herlihy ends things with the Mr. Rogers-like "The Kangaroo Song." --Rob O'Connor

one song wonder February 8, 2010 Kelvin M. Chapman I purchased this cd for one song while I was watching the movie i heard this song and loved it song is only love can break you heart the version on this cd is the best I have heard
Amesome CD June 25, 2009 Shawn Freiberg (Tampa, Fl USA) This CD is really good for people that liked the movie. Because the movie is dated, I am glad that this CD is still being sold thur Amazon. (Its sold-out everywhere else; I looked.) The seller shipped very fast and the CD was in execellent consition and STILL factory sealed. I would buy from them again.
Great soundtrack! June 28, 2008 BJ (East Peoria, IL United States) The movie was hilarious, so for some reason I can't quite recall, I bought the soundtrack!
Funny, funny stuff on there, including the "Kangaroo Song"!
Adam Sandler = funny!
A soundtrack by any other name November 18, 2007 P. Mitchell (Sacramento, Ca) Although this was a standard Adam Sandler spoof on what we all wish we could do ( slack off). The Movie was very entertaining and worthwhile. You should watch Cole and Dillon Sprouse in their very own right on the Disney Channel( they played Julian). This soundtrack displays some very good material. Although some of the weak points were with Limp bizkit's contribution and the addition of Dialogue from the movie as well. I think all in all this soundtrack covers a lot of ground and does a well rounded job in adding rock with some standard classics such as Styx's "Babe". Other Good tracks that i enjoyed would have to be:
- melanie C.: "GaGa" ( don't judge her solely because of her involvement with the spice girls! people do evolve you know.)
-And absolutely Sheryl Crow's version of "Sweet Child O' Mine"
which I think was beauttifully done and whose version was a little more appropriate for the plot line than the original.
* note if your going to crtique someone's song at least know how to spell her name :P ( see review below)
Music to Put You in a Great Mood! June 29, 2006 Maria L Sutcliffe (Tustin, CA United States) I hope you like this soundtrack as much as I did. I listen to this soundtrack in the car while I am driving home from work in traffic. For what it's worth, the music is very cheery and I think if you are into alternative you will like it as much as I did. The songs I liked the most on the soundtrack were: "Rush", "Sweet Child O'Mine", "Only Love Can Break Your Heart", "When I Grow Up", "What is Life". Those are the ones that I usually repeat in my car because they are really upbeat and don't put you to sleep. I recommend you listen to those. Of course it also has a couple of classic older songs in there which are also good to rip to your Mp3 player and listen to when you are trying to just sit down and relax.
Now, keep in mind that if you saw the movie and loved it(I know I loved that movie), they have a couple of clips of some of the funny things said by the cast in the movie. You may want to check these out if you have time of course. Good luck and enjoy the soundtrack.
