Amazon.com You'd never have guessed that this country hunk would turn out to have a brain and a heart hiding under his Western gear, but Brad Paisley's Who Needs Pictures is among the more encouraging albums to come out of Nashville in some time. Rather than running from country's traditions, Paisley embraces them, going so far as to include the gospel standard "In the Garden" alongside original songs that tackle more contemporary subjects such as single motherhood ("He Didn't Have to Be") or church services that interfere with a Sunday out on the lake ("Long Sermon"). Just as promising, the guitars (Paisley's own picks) and fiddles here have been recorded in all their biting, twangy glory. There are problems--a few arrangements are predictably busy and the gimmicky fake-out ending of "Me Neither" is clever precisely once--but overall, Paisley's debut seems like a sign of something good about to develop. --David Cantwell

Great CD-Who Needs Pictures August 25, 2009 K. Kneeland (Northeast) Very pleased with this wonderful CD. All my favorites. A fair price and quick delivery.
What A Way To Begin A Career July 1, 2009 Keith (Kentucky) I remember buying my tickets to the state fair to go see Brooks & Dunn with Trace Adkins, and then I heard some new guy was opening by the name of Brad Paisley. "Oh yeah, I think I just heard his new song, Who Needs Pictures, on CMT. What the heck, let me go get the album so I'll at least recognize some of his songs." Well, that began my first experience of being a hardcore fan. Sure, I hopped on the Garth Brooks and Toby Keith bandwagons when they were hot (and still like them both), but I bought the CD before I even knew who he was, and since then he's the only person I look forward to buying new music from.
Brad Paisley is country...but not Grandpa's country...he's country with a twist. He keeps it fun, he keeps it entertaining, and then he can knock your socks off with an awesome love song.
His freshman album is still one of his best. I'd put it in 4th place of all Brad Paisley albums. Long Sermon has a fun spring feel to it and it only gets better. Aside from his #1 hits, He Didn't Have To Be and We Danced, you also get Me Neither, which you just can't help but chuckle along with. You'll laugh (It Never Woulda Worked Out Anyway and Sleepin' On the Foldout), you'll cry (Holdin' On To You and Who Needs Pictures), and then you'll start the CD all over again.
If you just recently realized what a phenomenal artist Brad Paisley is, go pick up this one. It's well worth the [...]Amazon wants for it.
Me Neither June 18, 2009 Wendie A. Peterson (USA) I bought this cd for the song, "Me Neither". I wish that track was longer. Very funny. The rest of the cd has some great songs as well.
Wonderful music. March 3, 2009 Fawn M. George (Myrtle Point, OR USA) This is a must have for your collection. I have this CD and I bought it for my friend who just love Brad Paisley but have not bought this one yet.
Fantastic Singer! December 19, 2008 Todd Hagopian (Michigan) I absolutely loved two of the titles: Me Neither, and He Didn't Have To Be. This was a great album overall. I love his new stuff more than this current album, but as always, Brad Paisley never disappoints. You will listen to this album over and over!
Enjoy!
