| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Sara Evans's 1997 debut, Three Chords and the Truth, seemed, on first hearing, impossible. Here was a major-label Nashville album that, once again, faithfully captured the heartbreaking simplicity of classic country; here was a singer who could belt out with raw nerve and then slip low into deep smokiness. Evans's RCA follow-up is nearly as good, even as it leaves that hard country sound for a more radio-friendly, rocking edge. Billy Sherrill handles the recording, and though there's a luxurious quality to the layers of guitars and vocal harmonies, the standouts "Crying Game" and "Great Unknown" sound more like driving Americana rock than Top 40 country-pop. The real attraction, however, is Evans's fluid songwriting and expressive voice: whether she's singing beside George Jones, Vince Gill, or Alison Krauss, Evans's true, warm tone is, on the mainstream country scene, an emotional world apart. --Roy Kasten

Delightful country August 9, 2009 Pat (Pittsburgh, PA) Sara Evans is one of my favorite country singers. I find myself often playing this CD and singing along. Many of Sara's songs are upbeat and fun.
Excellent November 20, 2007 Kat (MI) This is a terrific sophomore effort from Sara. "No Place That Far" is a slight departure from her debut album, "Three Chords and the Truth". "No Place.." is more of a modern-day country sound. All of the tracks are flawless. It starts out with an upbeat song, "The Great Unknown" which talks about taking chances and just living your life. Then it's got mid-tempo songs like "Cryin' Game" and "Fool I'm A Woman". It has great ballads too such as "No Place That Far", "The Knot Comes Untied" and "Time Won't Tell". Furthermore, it has fun songs like "Love Don't Be A Stranger" and "Cupid". This cd has a wonderful mixture of songs and it has something for everyone on here. This is a solid effort and I highly recommend it.
Strong Sophmore July 2, 2007 Gen X Music Addict (Minnesota) Born to Fly is less traditional than Sara's debut "Three Cords and Truth" but certainly still a country album. Her voice remains awesome. Here are good songs:
Great Unknown - uptempo tune about getting away with lover and throwing selves on fate
Crying Game - great tune, best on here
Fool I'm a Woman
Love Don't Be a Stranger - done by other singers, Sara's is best.
Cupid
More Sara Evans May 16, 2007 Nick Cincotta (CALIFORNIA) This was more pop than her first album, you could really see a development of her own style that she created on this album
A real country album... April 26, 2007 Page Turner Sara sounds great on this second album. It's very country, like her first, one "Three Chords and the Truth". However it is not one of my favourite albums from her, while it does have some wonderful songs on it. A must-have for traditonal country fans, and any Sara fans.
