| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Never mind the weak material he was relegated to on Saturday Night Live: Upon leaving the show, Chris Rock suddenly became the funniest man in America. Roll with the New, his sophomore album, mixes a variety of elements--song parodies, skits, even one of those hokey routines where a reporter's questions are "answered" with clips from records. But most of the of the album consists of Rock's stand-up act, in which he fearlessly takes on the subjects of the day--Marion Barry, O.J., and "niggas vs. black people." It's devastatingly funny, and sufficiently thought-provoking to earn Rock comparisons to predecessors such as Richard Pryor and Paul Mooney. Rock's bit on "tossed salad" in prison will probably make you toss your cookies. But it's hilarious nonetheless. --Daniel Durchholz

Half good, half not so August 19, 2007 J. P Snedeker (USA) I found exactly half of this CD to be incredibly funny, and the other half to be incredibly not funny.
Great bits include the Opening, Marion Barry/Million Man March, Niggas/Blacks, and The Commitment, as well as a few others.
Bad bits include Luther Campbell, Press Conference, OJ/O'Jays, Champagne, This Show, Mary Wong, I'm Back, Another Face, as well as a few others.
All of the great bits are Chris's standup, and the bad bits are mostly studio-produced pieces that are written and performed by people other than Chris. What was he thinking? I can understand giving other people a chance, but they have to be funny first.
Just my opinions, mind you. Bottom line is you can't go wrong when Chris is doing standup.
Gigantic Engine of Talent. August 3, 2007 Bernard Chapin (CHICAGO! USA) I was not surprised to read that Chris Rock was named one of the Top Five stand up comedians of all time. His combination of intensity, showmanship, and first rate material just cannot be matched by mere mortals. His talent is never more evident than in this live performance from a decade ago. I don't always agree with him or appreciate what he is saying, but the brilliance of his shtick cannot be questioned. There are a few segments here that, even though I've seen the DVD several times, still leave me grasping for air. The fact is that a man like Chris Rock can implode political correctness far better than a legion of intellectual commentators ever could. He shows the PC mores and rules to be as ridiculous as they truly are, and has the skills and appeal to spread the word wide and far. Thank God for Chris Rock.
Too much filler June 12, 2007 tc (Clinton, NJ) I enjoy the stand up portions but the majority of this CD is filler. If you want to listen to Chris Rock in the car and have a DVD player, buy one of his stand up routines and play that instead of this.
Excellent May 7, 2007 Jeffery D. Giuliani (Sterling Heights, MI United States) What can you say about one of the highest grossing comics of today. an awsome cd, extremely funny.
How funny is he?!!!! May 17, 2004 Mr. Wynn (State of Confusion) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Chris Rock ROCKS! Only he can make these life observations! He's not afraid to push buttons nor is he afraid to broach subjects that other comics dare not speak about.Jokes you must NOT miss on this CD are about Marion Barry, OJ Simpson, and his Black People comparison. Buy this CD and you won't be disappointed.
