Amazon.com The 1997 Academy Award winner for Best Dramatic Score, James Horner's Titanic was the first soundtrack to reach the No. 1 slot on the Billboard charts in two decades; it also seemed to rival the Big Mac in sales for the year. And what can we say about Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On"; would "ubiquitous" suffice? Horner's combination of synths, chorale, and orchestra perfectly underscores the action in director James Cameron's 20th-century melodrama. It's a finely honed piece of Hollywood craftsmanship from a composer who has tackled more musically adventuresome projects in his career. FYI: Horner's follow-up to Titanic was the score for a different disaster: Deep Impact. --Jerry McCulley

Titanic soundtrack by James Horner February 5, 2010 Mario Macri (Mar del Plata, Argentina) Titanic soundtrack to the film of the same name was composed, orchestrated and conducted by James Horner. The soundtrack was released by Sony Classical on November 18, 1997, became the highest-selling primarily orchestral film score in history. Number one in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, with worldwide sales surpassing 30 million copies.
Horner is noted for frequent use of Celtic musical elements, and the integration of choral and electronic elements in many of his film scores, in certain tracks, Horner made use of a digital choir instead of a real one.
Celine Dion sang the film's signature song "My Heart Will Go On" written by James Horner and Will Jennings, this ballad won four Grammy Awards and reached number-one in more than twenty-five countries.
I'm rating this music CD with 5 stars !
Titanic Music December 20, 2009 regmoy (Carrollton, GA USA) This track has a beautiful melody to it, which spells of love even if you have not seen the movie. There are aspects in which the music changes to a dramatic tone to accompany the movie's eventful dangerous aspects, but I think it adds variety to the soundtrack. You do not need to see the movie to truly enjoy the music. My husband went many months listening regularly to this music and thoroughly enjoyed - even before he saw the movie.
Long Songs! November 11, 2009 Nicole Tolmie (Washington) The music is great to listen to and the songs are so long. Great CD to insert, "Play" and leave alone. Great background music.
Titanic Soundtrack Review July 14, 2009 Nathaniel Barker (Vincent, OH) I bought this soundtrack to replace one I had lost. The disk is in excellent shape and plays great.
ONE OF THE BEST SOUND TRACKS i'VE HEARD May 18, 2009 Caroline Cherie (Denver, Colorado) The music is beautiful and well written, especially MY HEART WILL GO ON. Celine Dion sings this perfectly. She also has a spanish version of this song that is even more beautiful. This and ROSE an instrumental version of MY HEART WILL GO ON are my favorite tracks. I am hoping to find a French version of this as well.
I feel that all the music was well done and made the movie even better. I have to admit that I think the song MY HEART WILL GO ON belongs to officers Lightoller and Lowe for their bravery on that fateful night. Their hearts did go on.
5 stars for this CD
