Product Description Inspired by the Columbine High Massacre, Years of Rage takes place inside of the head of a schoolboy who is bent on murdering his classmates. We, as readers, see what he sees. We think what he thinks. We feel what he feels. We enter a nightmarish world in which it is impossible to separate objective reality from the phantoms of the mind, a world where there are no limits, a world where desire gears toward destruction, a world where love merges with violence. The novel speeds at an unrelenting pace toward an explosive climax, never giving readers a chance to catch their breath.

High School All Over Again December 29, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you don't or can't relate to this then you just never will and this isn't the book for you. If you can relate or are willing to see through the eyes of those that are jaded and victimized by their peers, then this is your kinda thing. Not condoning any type of Colombine type monstrsities here, this book gets into the minds of the beat down and down trodden dorks that either later in life become amazing artists or serial killers or both. Its only slightly uncomfortable to read as it brings back horrible memories fo my own wierd and violent youth that people tend to think you're elaborating on when you try and bring it up. More people should read this sort of story and more people should write this kind of story. Props to Dr. Joseph Suglia for touching on such taboo but socially prevelant topics. Further props for some of the greatly constructed moments of stream of concious style revery.
Rage On June 23, 2007 Years of Rage by Joseph Suglia, tells the story of a high school student who is constantly bullied. The book not only paints a complete picture of high school bureaucracy, but our culture in general. Suglia takes the books subject matter very seriously, yet Years of Rage is subtly beautiful. Suglia's sentences are masterful....Like a swift, yet precise blow to the brain.
Rage.. May 5, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
"Years Of Rage" is a quick trip into the life of a boy who is relentlessly tormented both by his peers and his family. What an assault! It grabs you by the collar with the very first line and refuses to let go until you turn the last page disheartened that the adventure, albeit a grisly one, has come to an end. The story is fast paced and the characters are unforgettable.
Suglia, whose writing is always magnificently quotable, delivers many lines that whether they evoke laughter or shudders are perfect for putting into your pocket to enjoy again later.
The author is of the kind that whether you enjoy the actual story he tells or not you cannot help but be fascinated with how well it's told. I greatly anticipate all future offerings.
Excellent read.
Best book I've read in awhile. February 8, 2007 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is the kind of book that once you pick it up, you just can't put it down. It's a fast read, but a very good one.
As you read you see through the eyes of a boy teased and tormented by classmates, you feel his pain as he feels it, feel his rage.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone. It puts Joseph Suglia on a level with Vonnegut and Palahniuk, one that truly is hard to reach.
The agita of adolescence September 11, 2006 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
The journey begins with a boy who knows he's different but has been brandished with labels like "wimp" not only by his peers but also by his father. His physicality is not of the jock persuasion but his intellect is keen.
This quick read takes you through the daily abuses he endures and accepts - it is a study in high school socialization on steriods. As the reader, we feel the pain he feels especially when he connects emotionally with someone else who has been branded as a loner. Their relationship culminates in the liberation of their abuse through retaliation.
Joseph Suglia is brilliant at bringing thoughts and feelings to life through vivid visualizations. One of the signatures of his writing style are his quotable quotes like "I am a gay boy exclusively attracted to girls" and "I am not a human being anymore. I am meat and gristle, bone and sinew, skin and tissue."
This is not a feel-good coming of age novel. It is honest disclosure of adolescent angst and loneliness.
