    3000 South African soldiers and about 8000 UNITA guerilla's fought in excess of 50,000 Cubans and Angolan MPLA troops and defeated them, destrying complete enemy brigades in the wild, isolated and rugged terrain of southern Angola. What started out as a minor involvment by the South Africans in support of UNITA esclated into a full-scale war involving south african armoured units, missiles, fighter-bombers and heavy artillery. It's a very detailed book, 400 odd pages, great collection of both color and black and white photos a well as a good collection of maps. Good combination of strategic and tactical overviews as well as personal recollections and accounts. One of the best books I have on this particular facet of southern african history.
