Product Description Completely authorized by NBC Sports, The Sunday Night Football Cookbook marries two great American institutions--food and football. With more than 150 delicious recipes from America's top chefs, NFL players and alumni, and NBC Sports' all-star on-air team, the book is an easy-to-use playbook for making the ultimate football meal. Team by team and city by city, The Sunday Night Football Cookbook celebrates the special dishes, unique flavors, and most famous chefs of the NFL's 31 cities (and Honolulu, where the Pro Bowl is held). Recipes range from local favorites like Seared Tequila Chicken from Eddie Matney's Restaurant in Phoenix to decadent desserts like Chef Tobin McAfee's Double Warm Chocolate Hazelnut Pudding served at Sir Edmond Halley's in Charlotte, NC. Among the all-star chefs contributing recipes are Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse, Jean-Robert de Cavel, Christopher Wilson, Susan Goss, and others. Also adding their favorite recipes are former NFL players--including Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward, Kansas City Chief Tony Gonzalez, and Indianapolis Colt Dwight Freeney--and stars from the NBC's Football Night in America team, including John Madden, Tiki Barber, and Jerome Bettis. These aren't your run-of-the-mill tailgating recipes, though: The Sunday Night Football Cookbook redefines football food, transforming traditional dishes into super-tasty recipes and adding the nation's regional tastes to the game-day table.

No football food!!! October 7, 2009 KCoop0609 (Youngstown, OH) I bought this book thinking it would contain great "football" food like wings, nachos, dips, etc. Instead, they are all fancy dishes that have ingredients that I can't even pronounce, and I'm college educated! My husband and I were extremely disappointed as we host football parties on a continual basis. Now if you are looking for fancy recipes, this would be a great book. It's laid out very nicely and has a ton of color photographs.
Mainly heavy duty meat recipes April 8, 2009 SMS (CA) This book seems like a flash from the past, (i.e.1950's) lots of meat recipes with heavy sauces. Was hoping for quick game day dishes and some salads, desserts. Recipes are too complicated and calorie laden for today's diets. It surprised me that there weren't healthier dishes in this book.
Not typical football grub. February 23, 2009 L.H 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I recieved this cookbook as a gift. My sister thought it would be good since we hold football sunday at our house every week. I recieved the book and was disappointed in the selections of recipies. The title is misleading. I was thinking good wing recipies, good bbq, recipies you would not be slaving in the kitchen for hours. It is just a collection of football stars fav recipies not entirely intended to be served on game night. Also selection of recipies is on the football salary. Alot of Claims, salmon, shrimp, lamb, duck, lobster, filet mignon. Poor people dont eat that way. It does have a few good recipies though which i will use. But the book is very nicely done, very colorful and interesting.

I gave this book as a gift. I previewed the book to be sure of it being appreciated by my brother. He's a grilling/football kind of guy and thought he'd enjoy the concoctions from different regions.

My daughter picked this cookbook as a christmas gift for her dad. He loves it and so far the food has been great out of it.
