An Invaluable Book September 7, 2009 Shelleyflower (Utah) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great book. It isn't preachy. It doesn't tell kids (and adults) what they should do to help save the world. It shows things other people are doing. It has wonderful ideas and great examples of what it's like to live Green. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
Gives examples that many young readers will be inspired to live by July 10, 2009 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Example is perhaps the best way to teach. "What's It Like, Living Green? Kids Teaching Kids, By the Way They Live" is a guide aimed at kids to teach them the value of living green, and how to make family life more environmentally friendly. Telling many stories of children, teenagers, and young people leading the environmental charge, "What's It Like, Living Green?" gives examples that many young readers will be inspired to live by.
The Vanderwood Team says "Green Is the New Cool! So Think Green" July 7, 2009 "The Word Man" (Florida, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When getting thin and healthy became the craze, "Less Is More" became the credo. "Green is Cool" is the new credo that author Jill Vanderwood brings to the forefront with her new, exciting best seller "What's It Like Living Green". This book establishes the "new cool" by introducing us to a series of "cutting edge" young people who are putting the planet first, ahead of fashion, money, fast cars, travel, and all of the other outdated definitions of "cool".
Our obsession with the beauty of heavenly bodies is now shifting towards our own neglected but beautiful planet. We are tired of everybody treating our global mansion like it is somebody else's job to keep it clean. If you are going to live here, you are going to need to "do your share". Jill Vanderwoods team of co-authors are leading by example as they show us new and innovative ways to "Think Green" in our everyday actions and activities. With her past endeavors directed towards a younger audience, Jill has launched her writing career into new and exciting territory as she expands her audience to include everybody. You see, if we don't get in line with her passion and begin to care for our planet, there won't be one left to care for. And that will present a problem for readers of all ages.
Of course it is always easier to convey new ways of thinking to a younger audience. Therefore, hopefully kids, teens, and young adults everywhere will be the first to join Jill's "Green Team". The topic of this book is an original idea whose time has come. Jill has done a fantastic job of putting together a great anthology of stories about young people who knew this time was coming and took action long before the presses fired up this best seller. Thanks Jill for getting all of their stories out there into book-land for all of us to see and appreciate. If there has ever been a "read and take action" book, this one is it!

Amazing Information June 9, 2009 C. LaRene Hall (Utah, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this book very informative. It's amazing what some of the kids throughout the world have accomplished in improving the conditions of our world. There were so many great ideas that I hope all schools will try to incorporate the things in this book, and encourage all children to participate. Future generations need to be aware of their responsibility to the earth.
