Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Few groups have achieved the success experienced by Pink Floyd; most groups would give almost anything to do so. But, things were not just given to Pink Floyd; they had to work for success.Pink Floyd tells the story of the band that began its career at the Tea Set. With Syd Barrett on lead vocals, the group found a unique sound - psychedelic rock. As readers of Pink Floyd will learn, the group became the favorite of first the British counterculture and then those in the United States who lived on the fringe of mainstream thought and action. Readers will also learn how Syd's death and egos worked together to sabotage the creators of "The Wall". They'll also learn what it is about the group that makes its fans hope again and again for a real reunion.

Customer Reviews:
Pink Floyd - kids book - biography up to 2008 September 5, 2008 Joseph Morris (Elmwood Park, NJ) Its actually a good book Worth getting for the pictures I think Bear in mind this is for kids. It brings up a lot of stuff though (the Technicolour Dream, the early footage of the group on Granada tv, etc) that I was really amazed by Covers the early days up to Saucerful, including the singles, and talks a little about the Wall and Dark Side, and the band getting back together at Live 8 A mention of Syd passing Again - this is for a kid - its a good intro to the band though, believe it or not! Its a short book. Excellent pictures of Syd and the later Floyd though. Not as bad as feared! And an excellent bibliography of books and dvds (St Tropez - 1970? thats a new one on me!)
