Product Description This A-Z 512 Page book is the size of a phone book and contains the prices on American, European, Japanese, Mini LPs, MFSL, DCC, Sony Mastersound, MCA Ultimate Disc, and rare cds for radio air play only. It also includes prices on Pop, Rock, Country, Soul, R& B, Progressive, Folk, Ambient, New Wave, New Age, Heavy Metal, Rockabilly, Motown, British Invasion, Punk, Alternative, Jazz, Blues, Soundtracks and Various Aritists. This is not a cheap handmade book. It looks like any book that you could pick up at Barnes And Nobles or Books A Million or B Dalton. It has tens of thousands of entries with artist, title, format, catalog number, country and current value. You will be able to see what is in print and out of print, and has all the information needed to order the cd if it is in print This book also has over 1,000 pictures of some of the rarest cds out there. There will many cds in this book that you never even knew existed. This book took years of research to compile. I gathered my research from many sources of what people are willing to pay for these cds including shipping, not what people are asking for them.

Big Monkey's Compact Disc Price Guide: A Cd Collector's Handbook January 15, 2007 John L. Kvasnicka 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my son for a Christmas gift. He was very happy with it.
A much need book with usual first edition problems January 7, 2006 ibekeen (USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a much needed book for the collecting community and I am glad that someone has attempted to tackle this subject. For a first edition it is a good start. Hopefully future editions will be more complete like the Tim Neely Goldmine price guides. I believe that the author has biten off more than he could chew trying to list both domestic and import compact discs. A few examples of what I was looking for that are not represented are as follows: If you want to know if your original Paul McCartney "Tug of War" CD on Columbia is worth more than the current Capitol version you will only see the Capitol version listed. The Columbia one sells for a premium on Ebay. The Motown Two-fers that MCA put out in the late 80's are also collectible and not listed. Some popular rock artists are well represented while others especially Soul are not. Like all price guides the values are subjective. Currently available compact discs have their full retail price listed which makes their value over inflated. If this is going to be the book of record then collecter's input for future edtions will make this book a must-have.
