2 out of 5 stars FOR COMPLETISTS ONLY   August 8, 2000

Not as bad as an obvious cash-in like the dreadful book "The Wisdom of Jerry Garica," but not much better. As an audio documentary it's pretty poor. Phil Lesh's last name is pronounced "Leash", the author/reader claims that Keith and Donna Godchaux were replaced by Lowell George, etc., etc. A few good nuggets of information for the uninitiated, but a waste otherwise. The two stars are for the snippets of interviews with Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, and Paul McCartney who talks a bit about the Grateful Dead. Demerit points for a way-too-long interview from a barely coherent random Deadhead. Get this if you need everthing, otherwise don't waste your money.
