    This primer is ideal for someone starting on the violin. It begins right from the very basics of naming the violin parts and explaining what all the musical notation means.

    It moves on to simple open string bowing and then to finger positions. The latter half of the book introduces the beginner to small recognisable pieces which gradually increase in technical difficulty.

    It is an excellent teaching book for any violin teacher.
