    5 out of 5 stars America's most powerful woman?   February 1, 2009
Raven Ranch (Cody, WY United States)
If you're interested in rev war history, don't miss this book. It provides an unusual perspective into the life and times of one of America's greatest heroes, Nathanael Greene. But, it also opens an entirely new appreciation and understanding of Catharine herself, a woman to personifies many of the struggles of that time.

Catharine Greene became one of the most identifiable women of the rev war period. She combines beauty, intelligence, sexuality and independence to create a fascinating life both as the wife of General Greene and as his widow. The only modern day comparison I can make is Princess Diana!

You'll be amazed by the life of Catharine Greene and the events that shaped our heritage. Did you know she had a hand in the invention of the cotton gin? That's just one of the amazing events in the life of this American heroine. This is a very good book for anyone, but some rev war historical knowledge will help your appreciation.

Caty was the young wife of Gen. Nathanael Greene. Not content to stay home with the children, she joined her husband in winter quarters at Monmouth NJ (where she gave birth to one of their sons) and Valley Forge PA. The author wrote this biography based on their letters.
