4 out of 5 stars Great Book   April 21, 2009
    Marianne Jordan (San Diego, California)
I liked Marianne's book because it showed she was not the perfect little blond princess we all remember from the sixties. She was born from royalty, fell backward into the music scene, and then became involved with drugs and so forth. It's an interesting insight into the life of a famous rock star.

My favorite counterpoint to Marianne's book is Blue Jean Baby: One Girl's Trip Through The 1960s L.A. Music Scene, which is about an average middle class girl who got into music, then became a music fan, and ultimately lived the life of a groupie.

The two books together create a nice view of the sixties music scene.

    1 out of 5 stars Didn't Like It   April 15, 2009

I typically enjoy books about the music scene, but this one was offensive. The pretty girl I remember from the sixties turned out to be a real sleazy lady, not caring for herself or even for her own child.

If you want sensationalism, this is perfect for you. As for me, no thanks. I don't read the National Enquirer, either.

5 out of 5 stars An Inspiration To All Women!!   March 23, 2009
Ms. Judith A. Furnari (Oswego, NY United States)
I must say that this book rates among the best autobiographies that I have ever read. Marianne tells the truth about her amazing life. A lot of people judge her because she is a woman. She plays the game by the rules that usually were only meant for the old boys' club. The only thing that I disagree about with Marianne in her book was her choice of Mick Jagger as a partner. I would have certainly picked Tara Browne. Now, he was a real gentleman!

5 out of 5 stars All the inside, honest stories from the Wonder Voice Herself   March 7, 2009
Stanley C. Sargent (San Francisco, CA)
marianne really tells all in this fascinating and often surprising first volume of her autobiography. She holds back nothing, which is what really makes it great. She's not out to toss dirt, however. When asked whom, in her opinion, is the love of Mick Jagger's life, she says Keith Richards, though the two have never been lovers. She is even honest about how cruel the other Stones and she were to Brian Jones. I love Marianne and despite all she's gone through and put herself through during her life, she's a real lady. And she was one of the most beautiful women I've EVER seen!

Love ya, Marianne! And I still have the autographed slip of paper you signed for me in 1965!

1 out of 5 stars Self Serving and Disappionting   September 17, 2008

And I was rather put off by how unkind she was to poor Brian Jones. You would think with all her problems she would be more compassionate. When she talks about Brian Jones losing his looks and being dissolute I couldn't help but look at the pictures she had included of herself and noting that by the time of his death her own looks, such as they were, had run screaming from the room.
All and all I found her extremely unlikable and more than likely a little bit crazy.
She also spent quite a bit of time bragging about her "career" which , to most of us in America consists of a couple of appearances on "AbFab".
