Amazon.com Review Conversations with God for Teens reads like a rap session at a church youth group, where teenagers discuss everything they ever wanted to know about life but were too afraid to ask God. Once again author Neale Donald Walsch acts as the verbal conduit, showing teenagers how easy it is to converse with the divine. After the enormous success of his previous Conversations with God books, Walsch was asked to write a book for teenagers. So he collected questions from teenagers around the world, brought them into his private dialogue with God, and then printed God's answers on the page. So when Claudia, age 16, from Perth, Australia, asks, "Why can't I just have sex with everybody? What's the big deal?", the answer God offers her is: "Nothing you do will ever be okay with everybody. 'Everybody' is a large word. The real question is can you have sex and have it be okay with you?" There's no doubt that the casual question-and-answer format will help make God feel welcoming and accessible to teens. And the introduction by Alanis Morissette raises the "cool" factor considerably. Nonetheless, it's not for all teenagers: older adolescents (17 and older) may find it hokey or manipulative, and preteens (10 to 12) could find some of the questions too mature. --Gail Hudson
Product Description In the author's words, CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD FOR TEENS is, "a look at all the questions that teenagers from every corner of the globe are asking, and the answers that I have received from God in my private meditations." Some of these questions, which reflect issues that are part of everyday life for teenagers, include, "Why can t my parents stay in love and stay married?", "Why wasn't everybody born smart?", and "How do you decide who gets to be famous and who gets to live regular lives?" To compile questions for this book, Neale Donald Walsch traveled all over the world to speak with young people in order to accurately incorporate their unique issues into his personal dialogue with God. The result is, in the words of the author, "one of the first books ever to speak to teens from God s point of view."

Dangerous material that gives no safety boundries March 13, 2009 Laurel M. (Jacksonville, FL) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The author tries to answer various questions asked by kids using the "voice of God". However, the "answers" that he gives are not Bible-based and go against what the Bible teaches. For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question "Why am I a lesbian?" His answer is that she was 'born that way' because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and "celebrate" her differences. Another girls poses the question "I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him ?" His reply is, "Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong." Another question asks about God's forgiveness of sin. His reply "I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is "'judge not lest ye be judged." In my opinion, this book leads kids down a dangerous and destructive path because it gives no foundation or boundries. To guide kids to do pretty much whatever they feel like doing is a scary thing. Most parents should be be forewarned about this book if you've been convinced by Oprah to buy this book! Christian or not, Bible believer or not, the ideas in this book are dangerous!
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! March 10, 2009 Mary in Chicago (Chicago) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book goes AGAINST Christian teachings. The author is an atheist wanker. Do NOT buy this book and support this attempt to poison our Christian youth. There should be an option to give a ZERO rating!
NOT a Christian Book! March 9, 2009 Tonya Boston Just a few minutes ago I was flipping through the pages of this book and I could not believe the answers to the questions in this book. My assumption was this was a Biblically based book. Let it be known that this book is based on a miriad of theologies none of which have derived from Christian Biblical principles. Beware to parents who allow their kids to gain perspective or principles from this book.
A Catholic mom's opinion March 5, 2009 S. McKinney (Cincinnati, OH USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am neither a fundamentalist or an evangelical Protestant Christian; I am a Catholic Christian and the mother of two teenage girls. My advice to any parents looking for a warm and helpful book to help their children learn about God is: KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THIS BOOK. I'm not sure what "god" Donald Walsch is referring to in this book, but it surely isn't the one known by faithful Christians. Anyone who has a daily relationship with Jesus will be able to spot the theological error in this piece of garbage from a mile away. Well, I'd like to amend what I just wrote: I know exactly what "god" Walsch is referring to, and it's the one Jesus said was "a liar from the very beginning." If you are a Catholic and want your older children to learn about Jesus, have them read Prove It! Jesusby Amy Welborn (or any of the Prove It! series, including the Prove It! Catholic Youth Bible,The Story of a Soul by St. Therese of Liseaux (especially for girls), The Lamb's Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth by Scott Hahn, or Mystics & Miracles: True Stories of Lives Touched by Godby Bert Ghezzi. There are so many more books available that can teach Catholic teens about God and their faith. Don't waste your money on this book, which will do nothing but fill them with liberal, feel-good lies.
Conversations with God? February 24, 2009 Maple City Baptist 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've heard a great deal about this book and thought it might be something my two teens could use in their walk with the Lord. Unfortunately, it is a book of personal opinions that have absolutely nothing to do with God. People, do not be fooled by the title of this book, the bible itself remains the only book which contains a real opportunity to converse with the Lord. I was not able to find one shred of God's mind in this publication.
