Amazon.com Review Conversations with God for Teens reads like a rap session at a church youth group, where teenagers discuss everything they ever wanted to know about life but were too afraid to ask God. Once again author Neale Donald Walsch acts as the verbal conduit, showing teenagers how easy it is to converse with the divine. After the enormous success of his previous Conversations with God books, Walsch was asked to write a book for teenagers. So he collected questions from teenagers around the world, brought them into his private dialogue with God, and then printed God's answers on the page. So when Claudia, age 16, from Perth, Australia, asks, "Why can't I just have sex with everybody? What's the big deal?", the answer God offers her is: "Nothing you do will ever be okay with everybody. 'Everybody' is a large word. The real question is can you have sex and have it be okay with you?" There's no doubt that the casual question-and-answer format will help make God feel welcoming and accessible to teens. And the introduction by Alanis Morissette raises the "cool" factor considerably. Nonetheless, it's not for all teenagers: older adolescents (17 and older) may find it hokey or manipulative, and preteens (10 to 12) could find some of the questions too mature. --Gail Hudson
Product Description In the author's words, CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD FOR TEENS is, "a look at all the questions that teenagers from every corner of the globe are asking, and the answers that I have received from God in my private meditations." Some of these questions, which reflect issues that are part of everyday life for teenagers, include, "Why can¹t my parents stay in love and stay married?", "Why wasn't everybody born smart?", and "How do you decide who gets to be famous and who gets to live regular lives?" To compile questions for this book, Neale Donald Walsch traveled all over the world to speak with young people in order to accurately incorporate their unique issues into his personal dialogue with God. The result is, in the words of the author, "one of the first books ever to speak to teens from God¹s point of view."

KEEP YOUR CHILD AWAY FROM THIS BOOK!!! November 12, 2009 Anonymous (USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is completely ridiculous. Full of lies and inaccuracies. Do not put this book into the hands of your child. The dialogue is absolutely not Bible-based. Who in their right mind would tell a teenager that there "is no right or wrong"??!
Conversations with God: Not for the close-minded! November 4, 2009 Sera (Georgia) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
During high school I stuck to my firm belief that I believed in God and there was nothing more to it than that. I wasn't a big fan of thinking about God or talking about God, even though I secretly talked to him on occasion. My parents had allowed me to grow up and develop my own ideas about my spirituality, and if/when I was interested in talking to my parents about it they were ready to oblige. But at the time, I wasn't.
Now, I grew up in an area that was very much predominantly Christian, but the religion never hit a chord with me. In fact, most religions didn't because of the simple fact that I couldn't see myself being boxed in by the limited and set beliefs of religion. If I didn't agree with the entire religion, then why should I choose it for guidance? Why should I choose it as MY religion? This was how I rationalized it. I had my own ideas and feelings about God and life, so why should I just follow along blindly? Why shouldn't I question and decide for myself?
I went through an extremely rough point in my life during my teenage years. I began to become more curious about God and I searched for Him/Her during my senior year of high school and the beginning of college. I started to hear about a book, "Conversations with God". Honestly, the first time I heard it, the title turned me off. It made me think of all the overtly religious people I'd met throughout my life and I was thinking, "I don't know if I want anything to do with this...".
But the book stayed in the back of my mind and I continued to hear about it, so I finally took it as a sign and I bought "The Complete Conversations with God". It was the best thing I've ever done for myself.
Here was a book that put my feelings into words. Here was a book that made me feel loved. Finally, God didn't seem to contradict the image I had of Him/Her. Nothing in this book contradicted His/Her image of being All-knowing, All-loving, and All-powerful. Almost all of my questions had been answered.
Eventually, I went back to the basics and bought this teen version of it too and I wasn't disappointed. Instead of the dialogue being between the author and God, it's between teenagers and God. And the great thing about teenagers is that they question things, they're straightforward, and they'll hound you for answers, which is why I enjoyed this version just as much as the first.
If you're okay with giving your child the freedom to decide their spirituality for themselves, GET THIS BOOK!
If you want your child to find God "your way" or "the Christian way", DO NOT GET THIS BOOK!
THIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN PHILOSOPHY BOOK!
Let me tell you, there are so many people out there who cannot handle this book. They will say that it's blasphemous, deceptive, and they'll even go so far as to call it evil. But please think for yourselves and read it--read it with an open-mind. You don't have to agree with all of it, but maybe you can learn something important from it. I may not be Christian, but I think that, for the Christian readers, it's important to remind yourself of what Jesus taught and/or what GOD taught/teaches when you read this book. Some people have a hard time understanding the concepts of God's forgiveness and unconditional love, and they especially can't imagine applying these concepts to themselves. This is what the book demonstrates. It shows what it means to love unconditionally. It also addresses many other hard issues: sex, war, the concept of heaven/hell, poverty, money, etc....it shatters many common beliefs. BE PREPARED.
I'll leave you all with three quotes from this book:
"There are no 'shoulds' or 'shouldn'ts' in God's world. Do what you want to do. Do what reflects you, what represents you as a grander version of your Self. If you want to feel bad, feel bad. But judge not, and neither condemn, for you know not why a thing occurs, nor to what end. And remember you this: that which you condemn will condemn you, and that which you judge, you will one day become. Rather, seek to change those things--or support others who are changing those things which no longer reflect your highest sense of Who You Are. Yet, bless all--for all is the creation of God, through life living, and that is the highest creation."
"So go ahead now. Ask Me anything. Anything. I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. You may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear--all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways."
"The only way to move forward on this is to ask yourself, "What would happen if everything I thought was `wrong' was actually `right'?""
Crock of BS September 15, 2009 S. Hudson (California) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
My son picked out "Conversations With God For Teens" because he was intrigued by the title. I'm not a holy roller bible thumper but I must say this book is full of it. Do not buy this book! It is written by a guy that thinks he talks to God. I'm sorry but this book completely contradicts the bible. According to this book there is no right and wrong. Bad things are only bad because that is how your perceive them. If you kids read this book and listen to what this guy is saying you will be very unhappy parents with very disrespectful kids! My son can read this book if he would like. I'm sure that he is smart enough to realize that it is complete BS.
This book and the author's viewpoints are what are wrong with world today. I hope that all of you will take this to heart before purchasing this book!
I paid $1.00 for this book and it wasn't worth it!
Conversations with God for Teens September 4, 2009 jackieg (Port of Spain, Trinidad) 4 out of 10 found this review helpful
Having read Conversations with God books before, I was interested to read this one for teens. I read it from cover to cover and have to say that as a parent, I was inspired. It is a book which covers a variety of teen questions with amazing clarity and wise counsel. If one is not "religious" or "spiritual," the good teachings are still open ended enough not to bother people who have questions about a supreme being. The language was very easy to read and understand and certainly friendly to the targeted age group. I would recommend this book to parents and teens alike. In fact, it is an excellent resource and jumping off point for both parties wanting to discuss particular issues but unsure of how to approach them. It was an excellent support for me and offered me suggestions as to how to handle certain situations with my own teenagers. I rate this book with 5 stars. It is worth the read!
A book that close minded parents can't handle. GET IT!!! August 25, 2009 K. Roods (Arcade, NY) 7 out of 12 found this review helpful
I love the fact that close minded parents can't handle this book. It highlights the exact reason to buy it!
I'm buying this book for my kids, party because all the religious zealots don't like it, and I will pass it along to as many children as I can.
Its time to change. We're living by religious standards set thousands of years ago by a far more primitive human race which was struggling to understand the world around it. We've learned since then that the world is not flat, that snakes don't talk, that a man did not live in a whale for days, and that most of the things in the bible are stories... Stories meant to teach lessons, not to be taken literally.
The time to embrace spirituality is here (read that again, spirituality, not religion).
