Product Description Millions of people around the world know Chuck Norris as the star of more than 20 motion pictures, including "Delta Force," "Missing in Action," and "Return of the Dragon." Millions more know him as a martial arts expert, the only man in the Western Hemisphere to hold an 8th degree Black Belt Grand Master in Tae Kwon Do. And then there are others who know him from his eight seasons on CBSs longest running series, "Walker, Texas Ranger." What many don't know is that Chuck Norris is a sincere Christiana man whose faith plays a role in everything he does. Against All Odds is an inspirational story of how Norris overcame abject poverty from childhood, the effects of his fathers alcoholism and desertion of the family, and his own shyness and lack of strength and ability early in his life. Norris writes candidly about how he was able to overcome such obstacles in his lifegiving full credit to God.

Another deadly blow at social engineering March 31, 2009 W. D. Smith (Central Oklahoma) Chuck Norris is only a few years younger than me and spent much of his childhood only a few miles down the road from where my wife grew up. I spent my younger days a 100 miles up the road but conditions weren't much different from one oil patch town to another. I know his younger years very well.
There is much truth in the title. Odds were not good for any youngster in a bottom of the lower middle class family and Norris faced multiple shares of terrible odds. The notion that "all men are created equal" has always been BS. No amount of education, training and dedication could ever put me in the same class as Chuck Norris, John Force, Ed Roth, or Elvis. BUT!!! Carlos kept exploring until he found his place then went for it with sincerity and dedication.
I, and most of the people I knew as a kid, did much the same but with various levels of dedication and end result. Some of us did extremely well. None of us wound up on welfare.
There are many messages from this book but the most important are; Self-worth cannot be taught, it must be earned. We are each responsible for what we become. "Victims" never become "champions."
In the end, it is up to us.
A BlackBelt of a Book December 28, 2008 Eric Messersmith (Tampa, FL USA) I read this book to my children(11, 9, 6 years of age)and they looked forward to every reading session. The book illustrates that even though we all have our flaws with faith in Christ we can positively influence the world (atleast the world around us). An excellent book!
Inspiring November 18, 2008 C. Klinger (Denver) Mr. Norris is inspiring as the first time you climb a 14,000 foot peak in the Colorado Rockies and view the magnificent landscape below; truly awesome.
Against All Odds glimpses into the life of Chuck Norris and shows you a man of deep faith in Jesus Christ, a man who is a disciplined fighter, and a humble celebrity. I believe anyone who reads this book will find themselves inspired to live bigger, and more humbly.
I am humbled to acknowledge him in my first novel, Dean Ransom, Restored.
Chuck Norris, a hard working American hero August 23, 2008 Victor F. Piediscalzo Against All Odds is a short read but very enjoyable. I can relate to some of the experiences in his life. His love for family and his belief in God was touching and left me with a feeling of personally knowing him. His is down to earth, a caring man of virtue. If you have enjoyed his movies, TV series or followed his martial arts career then this is a must read book.
Against All Odds April 25, 2008 G. Grandison A must read. Very inspirational. Shows that in this life you should never give up. You must always believe and have faith. Eventually you will succeed. I would recommend this to all those who are serious about life, serious about achievement, serious about helping others.
