This is a 1000+ page book of Beatles scores that are NOT simplified for learning how to play. This is the real deal -- transcribed from the recordings. It is pretty amazing stuff. As someone pointed out, the print is pretty small (but just think how big this 1000+ page book would be with larger print!). Also, it is somewhat difficult to play any particular part (guitar in my case) from this book because songs take up several pages-- these are the full scores. So why 5 stars? It is comprehensive and accurate.

This book is just amazing! It is everything it claims to be: complete scores of every song written and recorded by The Beatles. I owned two other Beatles songbooks, but they are incomparable to this one. There are a few minor inaccuracies, but nevertheless, it is still the best book there is. After buying this book, I think to myself, "How did I ever live without it?"

This book is a terrific achievement. But the small print and hardcover binding make it tough for musicians to use as a practical resource. At the least, the book should be published with a durable soft cover and sturdy spiral binding so it can be laid flat on a piano or music stand.

A Great Book, Though There Are Errors November 19, 2009

First and foremost, I would like to point out that this book is a collection of transcriptions based on people listening to the records, not official Beatles scores. That being said, it makes no guarantees of accuracy, nor should it. I have played through a good deal of it and found it to be at the very least accurate to a high degree. There were several obvious times where the scores had incorrectly lyrics, but I figure if I could spot them then it's no big deal. As far as the guitar and piano parts, I can't say too much on their accuracy, because I can't play those two instruments well enough to offer a fair opinion. The bass parts, however, are very accurate, though at times confusing, especially with various "da capos" and things. As for the size of the print itself, I don't really have an issue, though a more traditional font might have helped with reading the numbers on the tablature. Ones look like nines. Once the problem is spotted, though, it becomes clear in the future. That's how most transcriptions are. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a rough playing guide to the Beatles, especially since it's better than starting from scratch, errors and all.
