Sad, lonely old man May 13, 2009 Cookiewise (San Rafael, CA USA) Poor Chuck Heston, living in a fantasy version of the past--as wingnuts are wont to do. This sentimental tripe is about as useful to read as a cup of sugar, and just as nutritious.
Good, not great. January 21, 2009 J. Pittman Review title says it all. Best read by the intended recipient rather than the general public.
Holier than thou March 22, 2001 6 out of 58 found this review helpful
Yuk. So full of himself and his "goodness" that I couldn't even finish it. Don't waste your time.
An excellent source for parents of all ages. March 16, 1999 nleach@ionet.net (Perry, Oklahoma) 19 out of 21 found this review helpful
A must read for any parent thinking that old fashion ideas have fell out of favor. Charlton Heston confirms that old fashioned beliefs are well worth passing on to the next generation. Well written and nice photos.
This book really touched my heart ~ August 1, 1998 19 out of 21 found this review helpful
You don't need to be a grandparent to appreciate the love and thought that Mr. Heston put into writing this book for his grandson. His words of wisdom, his life lessons and his family values are valuable and extremely well-written. His grandson, Jack, is one lucky little boy to have such a wonderful and caring grandfather.
