This is a quick and easy thumb through reference guide to: ALL of the Beatles official product, ALL of the ex-Beatles official product, most and possibly all of the Beatles vinyl ephemera, knock-offs in general circulation; re-releases and other stuff. Each page is a one shot synopsis of the album, the tracks it contains, catalog number, release date and billboard/cashbox/recordworld ultimate chart position. This is the kind of book that one can sit down with and flip through in as little as an hour or use as a reference to go and seek out over a period of years every little Beatles record ever recorded. The commentary accompanying each entry is nice because it gives a little bit of background information on the circumstances of the release, and the sort of reception it received.
I guarantee that you will find vinyl here that you never knew existed, I also guarantee that you'll come away wishing for more. This is why I rate it only 4.5 stars. I want to know, for instance, since this is obviously aimed at the vinyl hound Beatles fan, what quantities this was produced in/sold and just how rare it is to find....Anyway, you won't be sorry you bought this book. Unlike some of the bombs that Wallgren so expertly points out in this book.

Mark Wallgren blends his love for the Beatles with the journalistic integrity to print the truth. As the years go by and the myths grow, Wallgren's work stands as an enjoyable, readable reality of Fab Four facts.
