Product Description Robert Greenes groundbreaking guides, The 48 Laws of Power and The Art of Seduction, espouse profound, timeless lessons from the events of history to help readers vanquish an enemy or ensnare an unsuspecting victim. Now, with The 33 Strategies of War, Greene has crafted an important new addition to this ruthless and unique series.
Spanning world civilizations, synthesizing dozens of political, philosophical, and religious texts and thousands of years of violent conflict, The 33 Strategies of War is a comprehensive guide to the subtle social game of everyday life informed by the most ingenious and effective military principles in war. Structured in Greenes trademark style, The 33 Strategies of War is the I-Ching of conflict, the contemporary companion to Sun Tzus The Art of War. Abundantly illustrated with examples from history, including the folly and genius of everyone from Napoleon to Margaret Thatcher, Shaka the Zulu to Lord Nelson, Hannibal to Ulysses S. Grant, as well as movie moguls, Samurai swordsmen, and diplomats, each of the thirty-three chapters outlines a strategy that will help you win lifes wars. Learn the offensive strategies that require you to maintain the initiative and negotiate from a position of strength, or the defensive strategies designed to help you respond to dangerous situations and avoid unwinnable wars. The great warriors of battlefields and drawing rooms alike demonstrate prudence, agility, balance, and calm, and a keen understanding that the rational, resourceful, and intuitive always defeat the panicked, the uncreative, and the stupid. An indispensable book, The 33 Strategies of War provides all the psychological ammunition you need to overcome patterns of failure and forever gain the upper hand.

The 33 Strategies of War February 2, 2010 Ehsan Mehmood Khan It is an excellent book on war strategies. It briefly but comprehensively throws light on 33 strategies of contemporary wars. I recommend it for reading by the students of strategy. Ehsan Khan
An informative read for anyone who deals with conflict in life. January 30, 2010 Timothy C. Marinone As a reader of Greene's website for some time, I was familiar with his work from the site. Reading this book, however, causes me to appreciate his insight into picking out themes of warfare and strategy throughout history. Looking at figures like T.E. Lawrence, Napoleon and Genghis Khan, he shows how successful military commanders used basic concepts to defeat their opponents. In addition, he takes these military concepts and applies them to life, whether office politics or relationships. As a student of history, this book is an excellent read.
Just had to reacquire it January 18, 2010 Ignacio A. Ruiz Reyes (Monterrey, MEXICO) After giving my first bought copy of this book on gift, found myself without permanent source of strategic wisdom or advice, therefore I ordered my 2nd copy (English edition) for Xmas.
I think the author has a very remarkable skill to research, analyze and extract the very scent of human thinking based on historical facts. Furthermore, the way he presents every law with examples of those who followed, those who felt, an explanation and the anti-strategy, makes his work brilliant on one side and a practical manual on another.

You will hear naysayers criticize the amoral and certainly Nietzschean tone of this book, but they are deceiving themselves that this world is at all moral and "fair". This is a continuation of "The 48 Laws Of Power" but Mr.Robert Greene continues it under a "War" theme with many historical examples. On each page on the side there are wonderful quotes that kinda make you want to read the book again and just the quotations. I learned a lot from this book and how to use these tactics to my advantage and I also learned a lot of history about famous warriors and Generals, especially in the darkest hour. The story for me that was most inspiring was the story of The Samurai Miyamoto Mushashi (who coincedentally wrote his own strategy book, Book Of Five Rings)Who won every single duel he was ever in and not always through superior swordsmanship but through master strategy. I highly recommend this book and The 48 Laws of Power (Havent read the 50th Law yet but from what I understand its a book from the "Hustlers" point of view and pretty much about FEARLESSNESS)

Normally, I'm not prone to commenting on any such product on Amazon. This treasure, Robert Greene's masterpiece, however, keeps me entertained and informed to this day. With common-sense language and prolific research, Robert Greene has produced a 'must read' series of historical anecdotes, inspiring lessons, and dynamic strategical insight.
I highly recommend.
