Great Book! March 12, 2004 Julia (NY, United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This was a great book! It had all the songs on the CD except for her remake of Prince's "How Come You Don't Call Me." I was a little disappointed about that but I guess it wasn't included in the book for copyright reasons. However, if you're an avid Alicia Keys fan who can play the piano - you definitely need to buy this book!
Songs in A Minor, A Major Work of art May 6, 2003 Cedrick Hoodye (Houston, TX) 5 out of 12 found this review helpful
This book is an excellent read as is the album by the same name, is an excellent listen. With the album being pure emotion on plastic (i.e. a CD), the book, "Songs In A Minor" gives insight to the journey Ms Keys traveled to penn the lyrics and pluck the keys that created a superstar. The struggles endured by Alicia are only overshadowed by the stardom that she now enjoys as told in the pages. One can easily discern that the music like the book is a young life's biography of pleasure and pain, with wisdom to come.
