4 out of 5 stars Not Our Story, But A Nice Story   January 20, 2010
    Mark K. Wickersham (Tianjin, China)
My wife and I have adopted two girls from China so stories about adoption are important to us. Although Curtis' book is about a domestic adoption, I think it is important to show our girls the many ways families are formed. Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born is a cute story about a young girl who asks her parents about the first night of her life. There are many details she wants to know. Was she tiny and perfect? How did her parents feel the first time they held her? What was the lullaby that mommy sang as they fell asleep? I especially like how the father plays as much of a role in the story as the mother. Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born is a fun story that celebrates the beautiful blessing of adoption.

This was recommended to my daughter who just adopted a child. She was thrilled with the book. I ordered it before Christmas and got it right away.

5 out of 5 stars Great Domestic Adoption Book - My Adopted Daughter Loves It!   January 2, 2010

This is pretty much how our story happened, so we love it! My daughter is 5 and loves every ounce of it. She asked me to read it to her again last night. More than anything it makes her feel so special and uniquely chosen. The only part I disagree with is I think football is the greatest sport, not baseball. :)

5 out of 5 stars Inspired my daughter to create HER story   November 5, 2009

This is an engaging and inspiring book. My daughter loves when we read this one together. Curtis captures very well the magic of that first night and those first few days. She does it so well that any child can appreciate this book, regardless of how their family was put together. This book, naturally, had my daughter asking about the night she was born, over and over. Eventually, she asked me to make a story book for her about the night she was born. She was so inspired by this book! We put together her book with her favorites parts of her first few days, scrapbook style. Now, we read both books together. These magic moments are why we want to become parents to begin with! Thank you, Jamie, for such a wonderful gift.

5 out of 5 stars Great Book for Domestic Adoption   October 11, 2009

This is an awesome book for domestic adoption. The first time I read it my husband & I were a waiting family and I cried. I bought it shortly after we brought home our daughter who joined our family through domestic adoption. We had to travel to another state to pick her up. Although every adoption story is different, I think this would be a great book to encourage every family to talk about their adoption story to their kids.
